Hello everyone! I just finished the audiobook of TMF , and joined the forum yesterday.
I retired from a 23 year military career last year, and immediately started working a “great” slow lane job to supplement my military pension. I’ve been doing that job for about a year now, and told my boss yesterday that I’m quitting. I could no longer deny that it was killing me. There’s an old proverb that if you need to cross a fence, throw your bag over. Then you’ve forced yourself to find a way over the fence. Well, quitting my job was me throwing my bag over the fence. I told my boss I’d give her until the end of May.
My wife is a stay at home mom to one boy, and we have a little girl on the way in September. My military pension doesn’t cover all of our current expenses, so my plan is to get lean at home while we build our brand. She has been complaining for years about a particular issue that we believe indicates a need in the clothing industry. We’ve begun researching how to create a clothing brand, filed for an LLC, and secured our domain. Baby steps, but it’s a start.
Thanks MJ for sharing your insights, and I’m excited about the journey ahead!
