So on this forum we talk a lot about avoiding having a "job," right?

How many of y'all with a business pay yourself directly, vs. employ yourself in your business with a normal wage/salary?
Building a job is still a job.

A CEO is still a job if we are honest. Just, more fun for many of us. I am someone that gets excitement out of making the CEO moves. So that "job" is OK for me as long as I have built in a lot of freedom and flexibility.

The payment structure is just tax planning with your accountant. You may want some W2 income if you are looking to buy a home or whatnot. You may want more distributions if you have a bunch of investors. You may want to make it flow through an LLC... It is just a planning situation.

I got like 20K saved. And my business makes me 1000-1500 a month income. Is not a lot, but is like 80% profit. And soon to be very pasive. I surfed the covid uncertainty at home with my parents, now it's time to travel. My plan is to get a nice $300 a month cabin in the beautiful forest of Patagonia, Argentina. Relax in the woods. Start selling options with the 20K. At the same time, start an online vegan nutrition content marketing business/store, (¿why not just grow the 1500/m business? because is a semi permitted CBD business).

Should I be better at business before starting with the options ? I think profiting with options could help finance any business and accelerate growth, not slow it. What do you guys think ? Anyway, it's nice to share this thoughts, thanks for reading.

Ok, obesity is linked to more drastic covid symptoms. It is known.

So now that you get your shots, you too can eat Krispy Kreme.

Every day.

For a year.

For free.

F*ck the news and their ceaseless propaganda about how rotten absolutely everyone is. There are many generous people in the world doing selfless things that you will never hear about. There is plenty to be cheerful about.

Not sure if it's not too political but... Do you think that the only way to escape the growing anti-wealth tendencies in most of the Western world is to leave it?

@Kak you might be interested in this video.
I personally think “the west” is about to undergo a socialist/communist revolution that I want no part in. This is going to be some Venezuela, Soviet, Cuba, type shit.

We don’t have a politician problem, we have a people problem. The sentiment is lost already. Policy is just catching up to the sentiment.

As amazing an option that Puerto Rico seems like now, I may be forced to look at immigrating to a country on the upswing instead of downswing. Particularly if they make PR a state. I specifically don’t want to live in “a state.”

The ancients had it figured out.

In the last 6 months or so, I have been reading a lot of Classics books.

It is fascinating to me, that when it comes to human behavior and leadership, they had it figured out.

Most of the new stuffs are just a rehash (sometimes a very poor rehash) of what was written milleniums ago.

Takes for example the idea of identify goal. James Clear is advocating setting identify goals then building the habits that will validate that identity.

This is something Epictetus said: "Tell yourself first what kind of person you want to be, and then act accordingly in all that you do" from Epictetus Discourses.

Or the idea of internal locus of control, which is a version of "focusing on our sphere of choice".

Human nature hasnt changed much indeed.

Lot of similarities between Rome and the USA right now...

Hopefully people will be smart enough to reverse it... But there is a reason why history tends to repeat itself.

Anybody seen something like this before?

Fantastic product to sell in the new ridesharing economy. Definitely an example of "selling shovels in a gold rush."

I came across this company while browsing stocks through a stock screener.

Market cap is $85.4 million. (This isn't their only product)

Had no idea what your photo meant, had to peek out of my bubble into the world of "culture" and "news" in order to find out. Damn, hard to rebut a dozen allegations.

I've seen barriers for people with dogs in the car. Not exactly like this one though, this looks to be nicer and more effective.

Yeah I imagine this is for Uber and Lyft drivers who don’t wanna catch the 2020 cooties!

Possibly a major trend moving forward: extreme sanitary consciousness

My favorite was when a guy who I previously worked with would send an email and write “in per tickler.”

It would have been funny if he were doing it as a joke.

That guy probably made a decent living too. That’s capitalism.
