I am beyond furious about how low some people are.
You'd be surprised what goes on when nobody is looking.
People walk down the street pulling on car door handles until they find one that is unlocked. Quickly get in and steal whatever they can find - money, electronics, guns. I would bet anyone here who lives in a suburb or near a city and parks in the street or in a driveway has had their car handles pulled in the middle of the night without realizing it.
People sit in parking lots near gyms and parks and wait for women to get out and walk away. Then they smash the window and take their purse.
Along with that, they wait near day care centers and watch women in a rush to get their kids. When women leave their car running and the doors unlocked, they open it up, grab their purses within seconds, and leave before anyone realizes what happens.
They recruit women to dress up and cash checks at banks and steal thousands of dollars. Not to mention, they are driving a rental vehicle with a stolen license plate on the back of it so they are very difficult to track. Look up the Felony Lane Gang.
I've heard of many times at UPS where the workers are cutting open packages and stealing items. UPS has investigators that catch them regularly. UPS doesn't exactly have corporate level executives loading and unloading millions of packages.
We had a lady lose an entire stamp collection that was worth a lot of money after renovators were in her apartment cleaning up after water damage. There is no way to figure out who did it because the complex had several people in and out all day doing different tasks and they just say, "Wasn't me..." and that's the end of it.
There is a whole different side of society that most people don't know exists.
I once sold a baseball figurine on eBay. Bought it at a Goodwill and flipped it. The arm was broken when the buyer opened the box. He sent me pictures and it looked like they probably slammed a couple heavy boxes on top of it, which compressed my box, and crushed the plaster. I ended up giving him his money back and got the insurance back on mine. It sucks -- especially when you're counting on that money to mean something.
