The actual greatest "war" of our generation hasn't fully started yet, but it's going to heavily involve Climate Change as the main driver. The world is going to get chaotic and we need to do our part to stop this or mitigate the damage.

This isn't a literal war that will be happening of course (at least I hope not) but more so a fight for our species and civilization.

This war will not be fought with swords, bullets, words, or protest, but instead action. We must win at all costs.

How? By building a more sustainable future with entrepreneurship. What is an entrepreneur if not an inventor and innovator?

So stop searching for easy and quick hacks. Stop looking for that next big thing.

Build things that improve your community or your country. Build things that could fix major problems or even save lives. That's what you should be focusing on and that's how you can provide true value.

I want to see more inventors and entrepreneurs in this forum building great, useful, and sustainable things.

This could range from software or physical products, to brick and mortar businesses. There are gaps everywhere and you need to think outside the box. Open your mind.

This may sound optimistic, but I think entrepreneurship can save the world, and I want to see everyone playing their part.

I disagree.

The greatest war of your generation will be fighting well funded organizations full of billionaires, media empires, and unelected bureaucrats who are focused on a depopulation agenda. Such organizations control politicians and governments. The greatest war of your generation will be fighting a general populous easily manipulated and deceived. Climate change is just one of their weapons (as was the pandemic) and it seems like you have fallen for narrative.

That said, I believe environmental and sustainable solutions is a great entrepreneurial skew for entrepreneurs, and gives you a great advantage. If global powers are promoting some type of business strategy, you can bet it will be easier for you to succeed, get free PR, and whatever else the system can help you with.

Given a choice, YES, one should position their product/services to be climate friendly, from packaging, to ingredients, to sustainability. I myself even pick such environmentally friendly options when faced with a choice, even if more expensive. I'm on board with the idea of doing what's right for the environment as are a lot of people.

As for "climate change" being the greatest threat to humanity, LOL.

No, powerful and corrupt humans are the greatest threat to humanity, followed by ET aliens who are as narrow-minded as us.

I don’t think climate change is real or that bad.

I do believe wildfires are getting out of control though.

If you can label an idea as fighting climate change/wild fires,

Most of society will side with your product.

If you looked it up, most wildfires in 2022 were caused by cigarettes, campfires, lightning, etc. that stuff is caused by humans..

Not by climate change.

Climate change has apparently only caused 25-35% of wildfires.

That doesn’t mean you can js dump shit on earth Yk.

I agree with MJ on our biggest war of this generation.

The greatest threats to humanity, in order of the threat they pose..
  1. Evil humans.
  2. Powerful humans
  3. Easily manipulated humans
  4. Stupid humans.
  5. Careless/lazy humans.
  6. EMPs.
  7. Solar Flares.
  8. Earthquakes.
  9. Hurricanes.
  10. ET invaders
  11. Polar shift / climate shifts

If you looked it up, most wildfires in 2022 were caused by cigarettes, campfires, lightning, etc.

That would fall under #4 (stupid humans) and #5 (careless/lazy humans)... not climate change.

I can understand keeping clean, green places to live in.

But so far, the stuff that the ESG folks try to track (and use as evidence for their climate change policies) is laughably confusing at times.

For example, the ESG gang claims 'oil & gas bad'! Renewable energy with solars, wind and batteries good!
Yet folks forget how dirty (and downright exploitive human labour states in third world countries) mining for green energy metals can be...sometimes even worse than pulling out oil itself.

And folks forget oil & gas technology CAN be innovated and made cleaner too. That is just how tech works. Make it work more efficiently, and you waste less resources/power.

There are many, many cases where 'climate change' is misused and mis-tracked....but the green energy dichotomy was the first that came to mind.

The greatest war of your generation will be fighting well funded organizations full of billionaires, media empires, and unelected bureaucrats who are focused on a depopulation agenda. The greatest war of your generation will be fighting a general populous easily manipulated and deceived.
Honestly, I think this generation has already lost the war.

Not because of the SCRIPT, but because folks refuse the hard truth.

Few would like to entertain the notion that every day is a silent, dangerous war for our souls and minds.

They'd rather sleep, play, eat, doom-scroll, vacation...whatever that screams hunky-dory.

All we can do now is to keep our loved ones safe, and gather up the survivors.
Those who still have the conviction to wake up and change their lives...help them.

That is what I believe this Forum is for.

When I was younger my grandma always told me the number one threat to humanity was humans ourselves.

She said that monsters are real but they’re disguised as humans.

She also told me how humans are trying to deny those facts so they blame climate change etc.

She’s the one who opened my eyes to this stuff

Definitely agree with that first paragraph. The proles are easily manipulated by corporations and governments. The WEF is especially worrying.

Maybe I was somewhat manipulated, but I just always had this idea in my head since I was young that I could "save the world with what I build".

When I first heard about the new heat waves in India killing crops or when coasts began to flood rapidly, I just thought that I need to do something real for the world. Make things that help people and enrich myself in the process.

Walk around San Francisco for one hour and absorb what the most climate friendly city with the most climate friendly politicians looks like ...

Maybe I was somewhat manipulated, but I just always had this idea in my head since I was young that I could "save the world with what I build".

Absolutely! Try to leave the world better than you left it. That's my philosophy.

And if you have a climate focus, the "system" will definitely give you an assist.

When I was younger my grandma always told me the number one threat to humanity was humans ourselves.

Score +100 for grandma.

It's not like I think these issues are mutually exclusive. There is a war for a minds, but I also think that there is a war for our planet.

Most of us fight the war for our minds every single day.

Naval Ravikant put it perfectly:
"The modern struggle: Lone individuals summoning inhuman willpower, fasting, meditating, and exercising… Up against armies of scientists and statisticians weaponizing abundant food, screens, and medicine into junk food, clickbait news, infinite porn, endless games, and addictive drugs."

OP = 3.

I'm gonna make you own nothing and you're gonna be happy about it hahahaha

Hell no. I just want a more clean and sustainable future. F*ck the WEF.

I've thought about this some, but don't have a good action to take. I really like the idea of reusable packaging making a come back, but I think it's held up by logistics. Now, there's something going on with packaging material, cardboard boxes, etc. going somewhere from my curb and getting recycled (or not!?). But, nice glass, wood, and metal packaging that can be re-used and more luxury would be fantastic and would fall under that umbrella.

Mainly, I hate junk plastic wrap on everything, and I hate the unknown effects of plastics on the body/hormones/etc. And I love pristine outdoor places without plastic bags gunking it up.

IMG_1949.jpegMy opinion on this:

the number one war of this generation are..

Humans.

Humans are our number one threat.

Humans are lying to themselves and really refusing to change,

they litter etc while blaming it on the government.

My grandma does say humans are the number one threat to humanity but she shares the same philosophy.

“Leave the world better than you left it”

She doesn’t attack the government.

She knows it’s partially if not mostly our faults.

But the governments are playing tricks on us, blaming wildfires on climate change.

They make it seem like the whole world is on fire and about to explode.

Governments make butt loads on green taxes, in the Netherlands the green tax equals 10% of taxed revenue.

AGAIN: I’m not saying climate change is fake, sustainability is something I aim for.

Some things definitely aren't sustainable and need modifications.

I ordered something a few months ago from Amazon (I think it was a small, fake plant) and it came in multi-levels of packing and materials, cardboard, plastic, Styrofoam -- all in all, the packing material represented about 500% of the mass/density of the item I ordered. I even showed my wife how ridiculous it was, the left-over packing material was piled high in my office, all for some tiny plant.

It left me feeling a bit guilty. I even voiced to my wife, "Well, this isn't sustainable."

So I'm not some anti-environment goon as this thread might imply...

I just don't need a lecture from Billionaire Bill Gates about my Ford's emissions.

Humans suck. This is definitely the root cause.

People are emotional beings and they have strong beliefs that are difficult to change. They value instant gratification over long term progress thanks to their lizard brains.

Standing out takes a major shift in willpower.

People don't want to do shit. They want to blame the government and blame corporations for what we did to the planet and society. Humans did this. We put ourselves in this cage and we can free ourselves, and I'm putting in the work.

I will not deny that the government fudges data and I heavily disagree with their methods on reducing climate issues, and I want to do it better. Eventually build a company that makes things that actually help the world rather than manipulating and scaring the people so you can control them.

I will leave such daunting task to the sovereign nations and billionaires.

I am in Singapore which an island nation could be affected if global warming deteriorates in the coming decades.

People have to move to hilly areas and the coast will be gone if things get worse.

That is another motivation to get rich and hopefully get a green card in a cold country to hedge that risk.

To sidetrack a bit it is strange that real estate price seem to never factor in global warming that much. People love to bid up expensive luxury properties at coast.
