Heres a tip: make it hard to play video games. Ask a friend or your parents to hide the console or whatever it’s called.

If you can’t stop even once you do that, you shouldn’t be spending money on how to build a website or something. Im sure his web school is really effective, but if you don’t have self control over playing video games, It’ll stunt your ability to grow.

Maybe buy a book on self contol or discipline first, focus on yourself then your business. Otherwise this thread will see that and not see value in responding to this.

Day 8
Finally exercised and had a decent workout. Started feeling pain in my elbows and knees, all i did was abs and traps. @biophase was right about me doing the 1 pushup...

I procastrinated on the internet for about 2 hours, last week it was 3-4 but im still not happy with today.

Cleaned the house etc etc

Added survey feature instead of using google forms to Ian Thompson's website, it will help with the user experience and make it easier for him aswell. Also looks more profesional.

Bought my gym subscription in my village. It has really stupid system where he is in the gym at scheduled time only for someone to buy the subscription, it must be really time consuming for him. Im looking how i can solve this problem and make a website where customers can just purchase the subscription and he will recieve the info required on email to extend the subscription. I will construct the plan more and propose it to him on monday when we meet for the gym subscription.

You want to be taken seriously? You want to inspire other people? You want your dad to respect you and say yes to your ideas?

Learn to take action. Learn how to provide value. Learn how to ask for what you're worth.
Damn. @BizyDad is right. Im still not disciplined enough. I literally checked discord 5 times while typing this message. I dont want all the time u guys took to write all this :gold: advice to be wasted. I dont want to waste this summer, lets not bitch around andtake action ffs.

And stop with all the nonsense and crutches. You're mindfulness doesn't work because you don't want it to work. You're not committed to your success yet. You have it too easy.
You nailed everything. I dont want the mindfulness to work, scrolling on reddit feels too good for it to work..
Im not committed, im aware of that. Ive never had FTE, not like its an excuse but i feel there is alot of people who are doing 30x more work than me, i dont know how to match that. Im just gonna focus on destroying my social media addiction and exercising regulary first.

Tomorrow? Tomorrow?

Tomorrow is not promised to you. Tomorrow never comes buddy. Tomorrow is where the dreams of the inactive go to die. All you have is today.
:gold:
This is so true.

If i were do die right now would i be satisfied with my life? No i would be not. Im rarely happy with my daily accomplishments, its time to change that.
From now on i will put way more effort into making sure i would be satisfied if i died.

But here's the thing. Even if you do convince your dad, he'll be wasting his money because you won't take action.
Oh i should have specified, it would be mine money, i just dont have enough money on my credit card to buy it.

If you can’t stop even once you do that, you shouldn’t be spending money on how to build a website or something. Im sure his web school is really effective, but if you don’t have self control over playing video games, It’ll stunt your ability to grow.
Yeah true. You are taking action consistently while im making excuses to why not search for clients.
Reason why i wanted to buy the course right now is because Fox has 500$ Off limited fastlane deal, whitch seems like a steal. Im not ready for something like that with my level of focus though... Maybe i should earn the 500$ myself first.

Thank you guys for writing all the :gold: advice, i promise your time is not wasted, i will get better.

+1

Change your identity to a person who doesn't play video games or watch shit, or scrolls social media instead of being a person who is TRYING not to play video games, not to scroll, not to watch po*n. You're more likely to perform actions and stay consistent with them when your actions satisfy your beliefs.

I used to play video games SO MUCH that one time I just got bored of it and never played again.

Day 9
Got alot of stuff done today.
spent 4 hours learning html and css

Did exercise (a bit) i started to feel pain in my elbow after bench pressing 2kg (4lbs) dumbells. Not sure whats going on, could be inflamation or smthing

Brainstormed ideas for local gym owner website
Going to bed late, i was at Andy Black metting. It was great.
Went on a bike
Took the disugsting rice protein (still have it from that time when i wanted to say 10 euros on protein.. ive still got 1.5kg remaining..)
Ate no sugar.
On internet i procastrinated for about 2 hours.
Did balance exercises

Strategy that helped me to get things done is to put to do list on sticky notes and put it on yourcomputer or somewhere where you always see it. (i alsways wrote my todo list in my diary but always forgot to read it in the morning.

Plans for tommorow.
Do balance exercises
finish the website solution
Talk with the gym owner
Exercise
take rice protein
learn more html and css
Help my mum

You've got your answer. Incremental improvement. It's been a week, we gotta go faster.

Yeah good point, i never struggled with scrolling until i started telling myself i do struggle with it.
Thank you!

What helped me today was once i found myself scrolling on reddit, i started feeling all sensations and asked myself is this really the thing im addicted to? This is lame! I can stop anytime, theres no way i struggle with this.

Good night.. 1am right now oh god lol

Bro. Delete the damn apps, Thats what I did, just delete the damn apps. You cant scroll if you dont have anything to scroll on. You don’t have any self control. Just add friction to being able to do those habits.

You now: Gets bored and taps and scrolls

You if you delete the apps: gets bored, looks for app, can’t find it, either gives up or goes onto App Store, re install it, wait, Log in. And by the you probably realize what your doing.

Also what the hell is up with your bones, I think your focusing on your elbow, trick your brain to feeling pain just so you can give up, I don’t know though man.

Following your thread bc it is summer for me and I'm a programmer too, and I want to do as much as I possibly can before classes start.

It's easy to quit reddit if you think about the emotional junk food it is (people posting outrage porn to rile your attention and send cortisol for bo reason) and the type of people who use it (people who can't make any decisions for themselves before 100 other people up vote their post, and take advice from similar people). Redditors are the biggest victims and hivemind. A lot of their questions are so stupid it beggars belief and makes me think, "if you can't even answer this for yourself and got into such a deep mess, nothing I say can help you." People on there just look for validation, not actually to improve their lives or contribute meaningfully to society. Now with this image of an insecure, too stupid to be helped person in mind, do you want to browse reddit? Because if you use reddit, you are one of them. Websites like reddit are the most scripted thing you can do, since nobody takes any action until 10k updoots tell them it's a popular answer - regardless if that advice is helpful or not.

Day 10

Internet is shutting off in 5 minutes so ill speed write this.

Man im already in 10% of the challenge and i made barely any progress, we need to go faster than this!

Exercised
bought gym subscriptions
Took rice protein
Went on bike
Continued learning html and css
Spend most of my productive time building a website for my village gymm owner, he rejected me tho. My offer wasnt necessarily bad, but the solution wouldnt help him anyway because he has connectivity issues with the subscription card system.

I procastrinated alot today. I think my problem is i literally have nothing to do. Ive put minimal effort into finding clients. I will do way more tommorow. I need to be busy, when im not busy its easy for my focus to slip and end up scrolling on internet for 30minutes.

Goal tommorow is to procastrinate for 100minutes max.

You should focus on creating a wanted website for someone you know even if its for free so you can have a portafolio pice for other future clients but how @Spenny said focus on helping people.
Maybe the book "The 1000000 web design guide by rob Anthony"@Fox could help you change that mindset, its free on Kindle.

wtf its already day 11, i need to go faster.

Exercised (had leg day after very long time) knees still hurt, i only did 1/4 of the movement, any deeper than that and i felt knee pain.
I was 0% distracted untill about 14:00, havent done a slightest level of procastrination, however i kinda ran out of things to do again, this is the main issue.

Thats what im doing right now, i posted in some business facebook groups and asked my friends if they knew anything that needs a website. if you are unsure about your website, pm me and we can discuss what we should improve.

Plans for tommorow:
Find a client
Print MJ's daily goal sheet
Go to gym and figure out how the card system works
Ask 5 friends if they know someone that needs a website + post more into facebook business groups.
Cold call to 10 companies.

I think this is enough to make me busy for the day. Thank you everyone for contributing.

What type of goal is this? This should be aimed for zero, not a max limit. Go find something to do.
I do aim at zero technically but i get your point Spenny. Im not confident that i can achieve 0 minutes tommorow. But i do believe i can do max 40minutes tommorow.

Not sure if i can i will check it out tomorrow. Hes got a guy who was supposed to make and procastrinated on it for 4 months. Ill try to get the name of the guy and contact him about it.

The goal of this challenge i want to completely eliminate my internet addiction, get more focused and exercise more.

These are terrible goals. You're gonna go nowhere because you're pointing nowhere.

Im just gonna focus on destroying my social media addiction and exercising regulary first.

You'll never quit your social media addiction because you don't have anything else to do. You have to replace social media scrolling with actual productive stuff otherwise you won't stop. Same with video games. Instead of watching porn, get on a dating app or go out.

Brainstormed ideas for local gym owner website

F*ck that, build the website, get some leads, and call them up and be like "Did so-and-so get back to you?" I did this and got 3 pay-per-lead clients last month. Don't PM me asking how I did it, I used Carrd.co to build the site, Jotform to collect the leads, and GMass to send emails. Scraped the list off a public directory. Used cold email, followed CANSPAM law by giving corporate & contact info. It's not F*cking hard. 100 a day is the same effort as 10 a day. THE EXACT SAME.

i only did 1/4 of the movement, any deeper than that and i felt knee pain.

You're not allowed to put any weight on the bar until you can squat down to parallel. Unloaded squats for you from now on until you can get down. I see 90 year old men squatting to parallel in my gym. I thought you were going to stop being a bitch?

@LightHouse gave me a very friendly bitch slap a couple months ago because I wasn't moving fast enough. I'll quote him directly:

> We def know dabbling doesnt get you anywhere you want to go. That's the point though right, to give things a minor bit of attention, and when you set an expectation that, that level of effort will get you somewhere substantial, you'll always be underwhelmed.

> A lot of what you said is paramount to path of least resistance too... any time there is a pain, you move away from it. Any time something is a challenge... that's the opportunity itself in this world. Because if you don't like doing it, plenty of others don't like it either.

> Setting out to talk to 1 in 4 weeks is low, that could happen today. Would love to see you start shooting for the moon man, but you gotta put that time and focus on it like everything depends on it to get traction!

> On a last note about the pain thing, the other one i love to always remember is "Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional" Meaning the default mode is pain avoidance, but the way life is, we are always going to experience pain, and in entrepreneurship we are also CHOOSING to seek it out via solving novel problems. The problem comes when you accept the pain, then also choose to suffer from it. When you think of it that way, it starts to sound F*cking crazy.... and it is!

---

Im looking for small tasks like adding contact form to the landing page, something that clients can trust me with and isnt too much of a responsibility.

I think you should get a job. Getting a job was such a good thing for me, it rapidly accelerated my skills and I got PAID for it! I didn't have to sit around and wonder "how should I learn X Y Z", I just had to learn it. Did I mention that I got PAID? And don't give me crap about "oh the wages are so low in my country it's not worth it" Go cold email all the marketing agencies in Slovakia (there's lots of them probably) and tell them you'll work for them.

Please learn this lesson young. Please don't reach your 20s wasting time procrastinating. Please don't reach your 30s and wonder where your life went.

Massive artillery fire from all directions.

@farahead I hope that you will take this advice to heart and learn from feedback. While some of the comments have been a little bit too harsh, I can assure you that they all come from a good place.

Do you know that "crab bucket" metaphor? Where people are trying to pull you back into the bucket as soon as you try to rise above?

The fastlane forum is THE EXACT OPPOSITE of that.

We know that you can do more, and we want to see more. We thrive on seeing other people win. We get inspired by other people's success.

I understand perfectly well the feeling of wanting to have everything at once and trying to go in 10 different directions at the same time. This is not necessarily a bad thing - this is your true human spirit trying to break free and go beyond your current limitations.

But you got to have the humility to understand that life and success are going to be a long term process. Everything needs to be done in a particular sequence.

If during this summer you manage to replace your internet addiction with something more productive, that is a massive win that is going to make everything easier afterwards. The path is going to be more clear, and you will gradually become more competent.

Throw away all the internet bullshit into the garbage can, and pick up the barbell instead. Good things are going to happen.

Use the computer only to browse the forum and build your web agency.

Good luck and stay on the path. Do not give up until you get what you want.

Well he self named the thread,

Okay Time To Stop Being A Lil Bitch

But he’s still being a lil bitch. His probably that he could stop cold turkey based on his title choice.

So many people talk a good game but…

Kudos for him to keep posting though, most would have abandoned the thread.

Sorry to say that @farahead, but maybe deep down you do not even want to succeed? In other words, you look at the gratification, then look at what it takes to get here, and you conclude that the effort isn't worth it, and so you do not make progress.

This is also why you prefer to spend time on social media or procrastinating rather than working. I don't have to block apps because I simply feel bad while using them. And so should you. Same with training, people very often don't feel like working out. But they still go to a gym, because skipping it would make them feel even worse.

Exercised (a bit) started feeling small pain in elbow again so i stopped
I thought that little pain sometimes is normal while working out. Are you sure it isn't just an excuse? Or maybe I'm just wrong.

Oh dear Lord buddy what is this?

Stop posting daily updates if you have nothing business to talk about. Get serious or be quiet.

Tomorrow? Tomorrow?

Tomorrow is not promised to you. Tomorrow never comes buddy. Tomorrow is where the dreams of the inactive go to die. All you have is today.

But convincing your dad to spend money on you when you can't even be bothered to physically take care of yourself enough to exercise. You had a whole day of no school, you could've played games, exercised AND tried to convince your dad.

But here's the thing. Even if you do convince your dad, he'll be wasting his money because you won't take action.

So I have a better idea.

Why don't you take inspiration from any number of threads on here where school-age kids are making money.

And then save that money to do the Fox school if you want.

This forum is not a place for shortcuts and handouts.

It's for action takers and money makers.

You want to be taken seriously? You want to inspire other people? You want your dad to respect you and say yes to your ideas?

Learn to take action. Learn how to provide value. Learn how to ask for what you're worth.

From someone other than your father.

And stop with all the nonsense and crutches. You're mindfulness doesn't work because you don't want it to work. You're not committed to your success yet. You have it too easy.

It's time to start growing up and taking responsibility to make the things that you want to see happen happen.

This is spot on.

TBH, you are very lucky these heavy hitters on the forum are taking their time and focus to respond to a thread like this.

biphase is also right, usually the thread would have been abandoned by now, it's possibly the only consistency you have thus far... but for the wrong reasons.

You are here for attention, aka the shortcut to your current desire. You know no one on here wants to know about your porn habits.. we aren't your mother. We also don't work on that kind of shame.

I'd almost never recommend someone to stop being consistent... but in this case, I do. Please stop consistently posting for attentions sake. If you commit to 10 pushups, then do 10 push ups.

I know you don't want your excuses, but we don't want them either. So keep them to yourself... or better yet.. throw them out and do what you say you are going to do. No one can respect you, if you don't respect yourself.

The rewards in this life go to those who are willing to give up their bullshit stories and get after it. They aren't awarded to those who just dream, expect, or think they will manifest in life because they "deserve" them. They are only earned.

We are not your mother, show up with results.

Goal tommorow is to procastrinate for 100minutes max.
Setting a goal to procrastinate for 100 minutes is unusual.

After reviewing this thread, it appears you might be hesitant to allow yourself leisure time. It is perfectly acceptable to allocate 45-60 minutes for leisure activities such as video games, watching a movie, cooking, or going for walks.

You've mentioned difficulties balancing work and leisure. It's okay to enjoy free time, especially in your youth. However, if you have significant long-term goals, you need to start breaking them down into manageable tasks and commit to completing them. Enjoy your leisure time after accomplishing a task. Time is a valuable resource that can easily be depleted.

You have a wealth of resources and support available to you. It's crucial to utilize them effectively.

As for structuring your day, here is a proposed schedule:

8:00 AM: Wake up, personal hygiene, shower and shit, eat breakfast.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Focused work on goals (e.g., client acquisition, skill building). Use Lighthouse's productivity system either in Notion or Trello to help make it even easier to set your top 3 tasks for the day.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break. Watch some youtube videos while you eat or even watch learning videos or something that inspires you.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Work on your goals again and get back into your flow.
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Continued work (e.g., cold calling, additional client search).
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Leisure time (e.g., gaming, reading, listening to music).
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Go to the gym or do a home workout.
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Shower, make dinner, listen to a podcast while you cook or even do some more work.
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Dinner and relaxation.
9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Reflection on the day and planning for the next day

This will not work at all where he is at. He is addicted to the hyperrealities (I assume, i don't know him outside of a few posts here).

Replace free time as you mention, with heroin.... will that work to get someone off heroin? Absolutely not.

If you have a discipline problem, a balance MAY work in the right case with the right set up. In this case, this is an addiction problem to, essentially the pleasure centers in one's brain. If you give it a taste, it'll want the whole meal.

Also, none of it matter unless @farahead starts showing up and making a man of himself. No one here can do it for him, nor should we attempt to do so. There are plenty of people that are already putting in the time and effort that deserve the guidance.

I think you’ve got more than your fair share of good advice here, especially that it’s coming from some of the top members of this forum. Please, take some notes.

I don’t know if this is something that you’ve ever considered, but Martial Arts are a great avenue to surround yourself with winners and build great character traits such as commitment, discipline, courage, resilience and fitness. Especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).

I’ve been training BJJ for 2 years now and nothing has ever produced more benefits to me than this art.

What I can gather from your thread, is that you have a lot of time on your hands and that you’re struggling to structure it down and prioritize.

Maybe joining a dojo for the summer that has a weekly class schedule (classes 3x per week), so that you don’t have to think about it too much, is what you need to create a strong exercise routine and get you started ? Then, you could supplement your practice with the exercises that @heavy_industry gave to you so you become even better.

I would also suggest that you go and find a part-time job.

Sometimes, having too much time on your hands can be a catch 22.

Hey man Thankyou for posting this if i want to change my Identity should i write it on a paper or say it outloud every day kinda confused about this

First of all huge thanks to @Spenny for keeping me accountable and not letting me give up. Keep crushing it Spenny!
Also thanks for everyone who posted advice in this thread, it really helped.
So, it's been half a year since this thread was created.

Here's what I've accomplished so far:

Started socializing WAY more. Made a lot of new friends. Turns out, if I also take breaks and have fun, I get way more done rather than when I'm trying to just work and ignore everyone. It did ruin my sleep schedule a bit, but I can now work for 5 hours (almost) effortlessly.
Also, I started putting way more effort into Christianity.
Started exercising more seriously with my brothers. My knees are WAY better, and I have actual leg days. I've been super consistent (maybe except for the last 2 weeks during holidays)
Started scheduling my tasks using alarms, which was a total game-changer in productivity for me.

On the entrepreneurial side of things.

I finished a website for my uncle, which was a good portfolio piece. I made it in WordPress, and it took ages, so I learned how to code websites from scratch with HTML and CSS. Right now, I'm making a portfolio website for my friend and got an offer to make an e-shop website (with ebooks and merch) for a fitness influencer.
I also have a very promising client. His business builds stages for events. We already called, and everything was scheduled. However, right now, he is super busy, so we agreed to meet on 7th January.

What about the internet addiction?

I wish I could say it's been 30 days since I last played any video games, but I still struggle. I either have days where I ignore everything and get a lot of shit done, or I have days where I just scroll on Instagram and play video games all day. There's nothing in between.

I do have times where I don't spend a second on any internet entertainment for 4 days straight, but once I slip and get distracted, I can't go back, and the whole day is lost. It's my main effort to learn to get back on track quickly.

It's easy for me to work in the morning for 4 undisturbed hours, but after eating lunch and spending time with my family, it's super hard to get back to work. Is anyone else struggling with this?

So, what about the challenge?
It's still on. It might probably take another 90 days to get out of the addiction for good (hopefully). I might post more frequent updates if it gives value to anyone, but I don't want to spam this forum with landfill posts, so we'll see.

Keep griding everyone!

Are there any sales?
I am getting confused in this forum.
So many people start threads about starting a business, and they end up discussing how to get jacked and stop spankin' the monkey.
