Hi everyone!
Imagine instead of needing to search through endless products in an online shop e.g. for furniture or home decor, you could simply take a picture of your room and receive perfectly fitting choices, in terms of style, color and size.
For a customer, that would mean finding fitting products faster with less insecurity. For merchants this would mean higher conversions and no paradox of choice when adding more products.
This is exactly what I've build with https://lumiz.app/ . With Lumiz, merchants can turn their product photos into catalogs of 3D models and embed them into their store. A spatial recommender system shows the top 3 fitting products based on a photo and let's customers see them directly in their living room in AR.
Here is a little demo:
But the problem and rookie mistake I made, is building a MVP for ~8 weeks, while not being in touch with real customers. The main problem why it took so long and why I did not interact with the market earlier, is that it's technically complex and I was not sure if it would be possible at all.
Now I am asking myself 2 questions:
1) Where / how do I find possible customers the best? (Small to medium e-commerce owners , home-decor, shopify or similar). Would a better strategy be to do small ads (Meta, Google) to get my first 10-20 users and see their reaction via analytics and feedback forms, or rather do cold mails / reach-outs and work with a few selected customers? How would you guys find these e-commerce owners to reach out to?
2) What do you guys think about this product? Is this something you would use?
I am very grateful for any answer, idea and constructive criticism.
