Hi guys!
My name is Elias. I am a 20 year old, living in Austria.

I am currently in my first semester studying English and History at University in order to become a teacher, as that is what most of my family members are doing.
However, I am not quite sure yet if that is my way to go because business related content always comes to my mind. Good thing at Austrian Universities is that you do not have to pay tuition fees, so I do not have that much pressure if I decide to change subjects.

I've read and listened to both books TMF & Unscripted via Audible multiple times. Back in High school I was not an avid reader, just read what I had to read. After graduation, however, I got more and more interested in reading business, mindset, life-style books.
The first one (TMF ) changed my perspective on lots of things.
Especially the question "What is success?". A "High-paying" job, where you have to work 60+ hours per week that you don't really like, only for the weekends, until you are 65+ years old?
Not really.

I do not have a genius business idea nor do I engage in any MLM-scheme. I just want to learn from you guys and see where things go.

Looking forward to read and engage at the forum.

Cheers,
Elias

Hey Elias, welcome to the forum :-)

Your profile pic is really cool and fits pretty well, since you're also from Austria haha 😀

Its really good that you found this forum. I would suggest you read some gold threads and see what you relate to. If you find a business idea that worked from someone else, start an excecution thread try to implement it yourself!

Hi Elias,

I like your attitude. Some newcomers don't make a good first impression, but you have. Your approach suggests that you have the potential to do well, because attitudes have a huge effect on how you succeed or fail in life, whether in business or in private life.

Welcome.

Keep your eyes and your mind open. Read Gold threads first and you might hit on the idea that will benefit you and those you deal with.

Hi Elias,

Welcome to the forum. I am new here too.

Teaching is a good skill to learn. It helps you to develop communication skills, and it can give you lots of reach.

If you can reach thousands or more through teaching, then you can scale quickly. For instance, teaching English to the many, many people who want to learn it (in China & other countries).

You could also think about how to make teachers' or tutors' lives easier (help with curriculum development, apps for homework/attendance, anti-plagiarism, etc.) You could get some insight into what problems teachers have by talking to your family members who teach.

Obviously you could go in a completely different direction, but the education space is ripe for disruption.

@jdm667

Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the ideas!
Of course teaching has lots of benefits. Especially seeing the progress of your pupils can give you lots of fulfillment.
That's right, the education space has lots of potential but is also very competitive. I will definitely have a talk with my relatives, maybe they can give me some further insights.

Cheers,
Elias
