Somewhere along the way I started seeing a myth show up in entrepreneurship, and in the forum. Like this comment.
Ok, he's obviously exaggerating for effect, but I think a lot of people believe that tech is the best way to billions or that you have to have huge massive impact to be a billionaire.
It's not true.
I remember reading this recent article: How Most Billionaires Made Their Money
Finance is the biggest industry for billionaires, not tech. Talk about an old school industry.
And if you really look at the industries represented, you'll see energy, fashion, manufacturing, real estate. There are way more oil billionaires than green energy billionaires, so there goes the world changing argument. And yes, there are innovators in these spaces, but world changers? I mean, a cigarette rolling company and a polyurethane company are amongst the newest billionaire owners.
You don't have to start a revolution to achieve your goals. You just have to provide something that people want.
Don't over-complicate things Fam.
Hope this helps someone today.
... you know what to do. Hint: There are plenty of billionaires in the world and 90% get there through tech companies with all kinds of intellectual property, and valuations, and ultimately innovations that change the world.
