I'm seeking a problem to fall in love with. My business partner and I have a plan: find a problem, solve it, and escape the slowlane by selling the solution (whether it's an e-commerce store, a SaaS product, or something else).
My entrepreneurial journey started when I was six, selling stuff to my classmates. Fast forward many years, and I'm now almost 40, working a corporate job that's good but will always keep me on the slowlane. I've decided it's time to reinvent myself.
Discipline is key, and I've given myself two weeks to find the best problem I can solve. We'll then create a solution and start failing fast. My first ideas will likely not succeed, but I know that with each failure, I'll acquire powerful knowledge and skills. This will prepare us so that when the right opportunity arrives, we can quit the slowlane and succeed in our endeavor.
I wanted to share a resource I've been using that has been a great source of inspiration for finding problems to solve: the "Half Baked Ideas" newsletter.
They roll out a new business idea every day, complete with a problem, a proposed solution, and a potential business model. I've found it's a fantastic way to train my mind to spot opportunities and think like an entrepreneur, even if I don't plan on building any of the ideas they present.
Today, they announced a partnership with Shopify, which looks like a great resource for anyone interested in e-commerce.
Has anyone else on the forum tried it? I'd love to hear your thoughts. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're looking for inspiration.
