At this point I could go either way. I'm good enough for amateur, but pro is a long way off. My main concern isn't injury, it's the required effort output. After all these endless injuries, are you still confident about your plan to become a pro fighter or are you having some doubts, even if briefly?
I can compete in BJJ for the rest of my life, but there's a rapidly shrinking window to become a cage fighter, and with all the competitions, it's hard to get training for cage fighting. Fight training is hard on my body and interferes with competing. Plus, I would need to cut like 25lbs to fight, whereas I can compete at my current weight for BJJ.
I question the path to pro fighter because I'm not sure how much I care about it. Undoubtedly, I can fight and win against most untrained people. So it becomes a question of whether I care to prove that I can beat another trained person, which I've already mostly proved through competition.
With injuries, they're a fact of life. The body decays over time. I would rather a glorious death on my shield in combat than withering on my couch. It's dramatic, but at least I can look back knowing I chose a warrior's path.
