My first post here https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/should-i-choose-this-path.69401/ clarify about my intention on create an e-commerce with perfume based. My concern now is about outsource to some manufacturer to make the product and I will pay my attention in market them only, or should I learn to produce them myself instead.
While the former could help shorten time a lot but comes with much higher cost and I will have to rely on them making my product forever. The formula they created even especially for me will be kept secret. And there are two important issues - no process and no barrier. In case I do marketing properly and got them boosted as expected but still my product will have a high chance to be replicated by manufacturer later. Yet I cannot produce them myself since I did not take ground from the beginning.
The latter one could help create a good barrier and making my product more unique. No formula will be leaked and not easily for my product to be replicated. However a long time of learning (minimum 5 years) is my concern. Shouldn't I use that time to market the product instead?
Focus in your strength is sound rational than trying to be an average-as-best programmer (perfumer). However my decision go to the latter choice. Do you have an opinion or suggestion? Thank you.
