I've been lurking here for a while, and learning a bit about how people here think, and I have a feeling that I'm not doing enough, or the right things.
I've gotten over may of the pitfalls associated with getting started, like waiting for the "perfect time" or until I'm "good enough", and I genuinely feel like I am no longer bound by the fear of doing what I think I need to do.
Now I just feel like I'm subconsciously telling myself I'm doing the right things, while I actually should be doing something else.
1. Do you have tools or principles for deciding, whether you are on a good path?
2. How can I make sure I'm not action faking or choosing a path of lesser resistance?
For context, I like to make videogames, and making videogames is a growing industry, with more people want to make games every year.
I decided I would teach making games, as I have some competitive advantages there, and I find it really meaningful.
My current actions are:
- Making a game, and documenting the process for content and future social proof
- Making Youtube videos to grow an organic audience and improve my communication and content skills
- Making course material
I argue to myself that making the Youtube content will allow me to make better course material later and it will allow me to grow an audience, that will eventually convert into paying customers.
The counter argument is that I should be doing something else, like creating course content and doing paid advertising.
Also maybe I should be somehow validating that this can even be a profitable business, but I don't know how.
Any thoughts?
I would like to improve and refine my thinking, and get better at this!
