For the record, I've been on this forum since 2016 (I was 21 at the time, now 30...)
Read all the books.
Got an FTE in 2023, when I realized I could not stay at a regular 9 to 5 my whole life.
You could see my other thread from mid-2023 about how I started learning how to code from zero (and without ChatGPT at the time) to develop a fully functional app.
The app still works today and I have about 5 new accounts every week, however I haven't earned a single cent with it. Can't say it's highly successful.
It's okay as I learned a lot in the process: it was not only about coding, but pitching it IRL, calling people for partnerships etc... When you've never done that it is so stressful somehow.
I haven't posted in a while, however I still come back to this forum from time to time, as TMF is still the very book that changed how I envision my life.
By the way I'll quit my job next month, as it was making me lethargic.
I know we theoretically shouldn't quit without adequate side hustle revenue, however I do have a paid off home, a severance package & a 3-year runway at a minimum with my current lifestyle.
Now let's get started with the thread's topic.
I have no business, no customer, no revenue. Yes, even after reading TMF almost 10 years ago.
So I reminded myself about a thread I saw here which simply stated that you should help someone (probably from @Andy Black )
My bicycle was bought at a small shop in Paris, and I got several repairs on it at the same location.
One day, when I was getting it back, I heard the owner argue with one of his employees about wrong invoicing based on repairs that were done.
Then, I saw him check details on a paper book.
That's when it ticked. What? Paper? He should go digital!
(As a side note I perfectly know many small business work with paper, which may or may not be a problem to them, it's just that I have worked on digital apps in the manufacturing industry)
So I told him something like "I saw you writing on paper, would you willing to work together so that I help you with whatever problem you may have?"
To my surprise, he said yes.
