Hi, my name is Chase Oh, and I’m based in CA. Glad to be here.
A little about me.
In 2011, I came to the states at 14 as an international student. After high school, I had no real support from my parents, but I still wanted to stay in the U.S., so I worked 3 jobs under the table to pay for school and support myself. Working like a dog for years, I got an opportunity through a program called MAVNI that allowed international students to join the U.S. military and earn citizenship. I joined the Army without hesitation. That was 2018.
Right before I was about to re-enlist after 4.5 years of service, I read the very first book I had ever actually read in my life, The Fastlane Millionaire. It was the only book I had read at the time. It hit me hard. So hard. I got out of the Army with no real plan. I just knew I needed to get out of the paycheck life. That was 2023.
I had nowhere to go, so I went to a body shop owner I knew from college and asked to work for him without a paycheck. He thought I was crazy, but I kept showing up. We talked about business ideas day and night. After about 4 months, one of his business ideas clicked with me. I used money from my Army savings, stocks, and 401k. I even took out a personal loan. I went all in. We built an indoor golf simulator business using machines imported from South Korea. I’m still running that business now. That was late 2023.
Meanwhile, I brought my mom to the U.S. and helped her get started with a homestay business based on a system I saw when I was an international student. She came with nothing, and now she’s running her own business and doing much better. That was 2024.
In 2025, I got interested in the general contracting business. With my military experience and bachelor’s degree, I was able to qualify for the exam without much direct experience. I studied hard, passed it, and got my General B license. Honestly, that was probably one of my worst decisions. I did a few projects, but there were no real profits, and for about a year I was pouring money from the golf business into it. I eventually realized it was a business that needed too much of me personally, so I decided to take a different path.
Running the golf business taught me a lot. I built systems that allow the business to run without me being there, but it also made me realize that selling time is hard to scale. That pushed me toward selling products. I recently launched a new e-commerce brand, and that’s where a lot of my focus is now.
I haven’t made much progress yet toward becoming a millionaire, and…. I don’t even know if I’m heading in the right direction. I still have a lot to learn. Not going to lie, my thinking still drifts toward the slowlane sometimes. Those habits are hard to shake, so I joined this group to stay sharp, stay aware, and keep learning.
I’m here to grow, learn from people who are further ahead, and support others however I can.
