But you do... you can't make a statement like this seriously. No human, given the choice, would willingly accept a smaller bank balance.
.

I would though. Even using MJ's sums in the book, everything I could ever want, I could buy with the interest from less than a million.

Buffet willingly gave away over 46 billion to charity that makes his bank balance smaller.

Everyone who contributes to open source is accepting a smaller bank balance, they give away their skills for free. They could be freelancing instead.

Your argument does not match reality unless Warren Buffett and Bill Gates are extra-terresital or some other kind of non human?

You can choose to work on things that matter. You can work on things that have massive potential pay offs. You can work on things that might be a bit challenging...

You can indeed the Gates foundation,Ubuntu and open source come to mind.

What you are essentially saying is you would rather not do those things.

I'm saying I don't want 100% of the reward, I can always give what I do not away. If you only want to add value, then there is no need to charge for Labour is there?

I’m not even close to anti-giving. I give a lot of money away. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to make more. Last I checked, Buffet is still working, in his 80s, by choice.

There is nothing wrong with being wealthy if you earned it ethically and a million dollars is far from a lot of money.

The reality is, that choice exists. You can choose to work on things that matter. You can work on things that have massive potential pay offs. You can work on things that might be a bit challenging...

Translation: I don't want to do the things i believe are involved in becoming a millionaire

Drop the dollar amount talk. Focus on finding a skill that you can use to provide value to others. Move to a city. Share a place with someone to save money.
