So I've been pondering the idea of starting an e-business. I'm working on my paperless business, but would also like another project to work on on the side. So this idea came to me. There are many diet sites that help you lose weight, track calories etc etc. There are also many recipe sites that have recipes, etc etc. I was thinking about integrating the two.
My premise is to:
Create a website that allows users to create weight loss goals, take a short(10-15 minute) survey that asks them questions about their food and taste preferences, then creates a meal plan for them that will help them attain their weight loss goals. However, rather than just telling them what to eat calorie wise, or even what foods to eat, I want the recipe to click able in the diet plan. I was thinking of making the recipes a little more fancy/healthy and marketing toward not just regular diet recipes(crap no one wants to eat) but diet recipes that are tasty. It would also do things like create a shopping list etc etc.
Now, after doing some market research i was only able to find one site that is similar:
Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople
This does what I was talking about with the weight loss and meal plans, however it does not have the recipe portion, nor does it have the survey. It merely asks what kind of meats you like and don't like. Also some of the foods are rather dull and boring. I was going through it trying to see some pros/cons and I got peanut butter and banana sandwich. No thanks
Any thoughts on the topic? Think it's to similar to that website? Ideas?
Also if anyone had a estimate on what it would take to develop the structure of the website(not input the actual data) it would be appreciated
