I used to play Chess a lot. I found it interesting and the strategy of the game always amused me.

I wasn't any good, but I enjoyed it.

When I was in college I used to play in the team, I was the fifth player, the one that was part of the team based on persistence (I showed up to all training session and tournaments) but the top four always got to play (they had the real talent).

Every now and then one of them would miss a tournament, and then I would play. It was fun, but my record was nothing to be proud of.

But, like I said, I liked it.

These days I don't have too much time to play and don't have too many friends to play with.

Anybody here plays fairly regularly?

I never fond it amusing to play against the computer... it was soulless. Besides, the computer never made mistakes (well, never is not accurate, but close enough). With human interaction you can exploit your rival's weaknesses and take advantage of different positions.

I guess playing online against other person should be fun. Do any of you guys play online against other humans? I know, these days it is "in" to play WoW or Halo... maybe I' just ol' school!
