Hey all. My name is Alex. I am from India and I am currently working as a System Administrator.
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2020, just as COVID lockdowns were beginning. The original plan was to go for a PostGrad Masters degree which was postponed by a few months due to the lockdown. During this time, I landed my current job and I've been working since then.
Being a bright student right from primary school, I was/am expected to go on and get a good degree and then get a Government job or a good private job. I frankly find this very bland and unsatisfactory, but we are programmed to walk this safe and secure route from when we are just starting kindergarten.
I enjoy studying and implementing the gained knowledge but the education system seems to be geared towards producing "workers" and not "achievers". The prime fallacy I find here is that in the majority of cases your job does not even correspond with the formal education you have received (like myself, I graduated with Honours in Mathematics and am working as a SysAdmin!).
I recently purchased and am reading The Millionaire Fastlane . I feel it is a really great book for creating the right mindset and environment for breaking free from the norms that society wants us to put up with.
