Trying to come up with the perfect name for my company and wonders if there are any good books out on the subject.
Would be nice if it could descripe how to make it into a brand later.

Got any tips?

check out guy named Raymond Aaron, I've been to a couple of his seminars he's pretty good at what he does. Doesn't bother me the fact that he is coached by Nido Qubein, lol. He just wrote the book for Small Business Branding I think that would help.

Oh and Buy-o-logy by Martin Lindstrom is a genuine read for branding.

'Build a brand in 30 days' by Simon Middleton, excellent book on building a brand for your business by taking you through 30 simple exercises, would highly recommend it!

Just think, short, memorable, and spellable.

Use Google Translate to come up with words that fit those qualities.

Note that Zappos is a loose iteration of Zapatos in spanish, which means shoes.

I'd agree! Don't kill yourself on making a name at a specific time. Let it come to you. Keep a tablet around and jot down names that come to you. Compare and mix as the list grows and don't hesitate to bust out a dictionary and thesaurus!
