My friend told me he bought crypto, but that he lost some money on it and sold right away.

He couldn't remember the name of the coin though, but I had some ideas...

"Did you buy dogecoin? I asked
- Yeah, doge, that's the one, the one everyone is buying..."
If only there was a word or acronym for this type of buying behavior

This might be autistic.
But buying Dogecoin before elon musks SNL appearance might be a good idea...

The guy can't resist shilling dogecoin.

Dogecoin is worthless and I can't bring myself to gamble on it lol.

Uber drivers and barbers.... is this the start of the end of this run? How much time do we have left I wonder. One month? Two?

Google trends for bitcoin is still super low. For how much I see it posted online in various places I find this surprising.
Is the sentiment in this group totally going off bitcoin momentum for the peak of the bull run? With more institutional investors this time I wonder if it will be different and if alt market cap will be the biggest part of this bull run this time. I work with people buying those coins that never heard of Ethereum....I literally just bought $100 in DOGE to F*ck with them before I walked into work.
I had to send my accountant my Crypto holdings today.

They are an old school Irish style operation (but very good at what they do).

When listing the coins and amounts it felt like "...I got 80 magic red beans, and 14 silver mystical coins, and oh 2,300 of these special blue tokens..." haha.

I think it might be a 'sell the news' type event, but who knows.

Idk what to make of all the ghost chains popping off. ETC? BTG? These things are dead, but have a huge marketcap now...

I wonder if the "crash" is the entire market going down - or if it's a rotation from all the nonsense into things that are real.

ETH the economy is real. Single-purpose chains? Ngmi imo.

Asset inflation is everywhere.

With that said, I think it would be narrow-minded to mistake the entire asset class of crypto as being the only one that's inflated.

If you start comparing certain assets on crypto versus their equivalent solutions spanning global economies - many are still "undervalued" relatively.

So although Filecoin may be overpriced and in a "bubble" relative to something like Dropbox - ETH is still highly undervalued in the transaction volume it secures versus other institutions that secure payments. And that's only one metric for valuation on one use case (DeFi) - not considering the many other use-cases that enable further value accrual into the economy.

ETH just passed the PayPal marketcap. In comparison, ETH secures ~ $30B/day whereas Paypal secures only ~$2.5B/day. On payment basis alone - which asset do you think is overvalued? Which asset provides more "use", PayPal stocks or native ETH tokens?

I got some DMs on Crypto.

I don't really have any advice to offer - I only bought a few things and I am not day trading or putting much time into this. I more keep an eye on this thread out of curiosity.

I have some Eth, some SOV (sovryn), and some smaller coins like Cardano.
I am around x4 on what I started with and am planning to pull some time in the summer.

Personally I think if you don't have a solid main business this stuff should be taking up a fraction of your time.
Pick one or two good coins, put an amount if you can afford to lose, and then get back to work.

Well said @Fox

Either treat it like a business, with all its risks. Or stick to a few coins and don’t mistake bull market for brains.

Man every group chat I'm in is talking about ETH, XRP, and DOGE. Lmfao. Uber drivers are giving other family members investment advice on which coins to invest in now. This is the problem that leads to claims like "crypto is a scam" after a major correction/crash. The average Joe is only buying because of a headline or because they see a coin up $400 in 1 day.

EDIT: Btw, I wasn't saying crypto is a scam or you guys are idiots. I was saying this is why the average Joe cries when they lose money on crypto.
Also the average Joes seem to go against one of the most popular investment statements, buy low, sell high. One of my friends was breaking even up to February as he'd buy when the price was going up, and when it dipped he'd sell. I told him to buy when there's a dip instead, and to wait until it's performing well to sell a coin he's wanting rid of and he's been comfortably in profit since.

Food for thoughts.

I put in low 4 figures in crypto a few years ago and it has grown a lot.

Saw few posts on the approach people are taking with crypto... I think cryptos have a similar profile to VC investments. That's how I approach It - as if I'm investing in early stages companies - with less scale and control - but more liquidity.

I make few bets, and I just need 1 to 3 to pay substantially to be worth it. Now mind you, I took back my investments, so if I lose everything now, I don't care much.

So far ETH, MANA, VET, and ADA have been very good to me.

Looking into ARPA right now. Bought few already, looking into potentially buying more.

Talking about DOGE, every now and then I make random bets on popular coins and ride the wave. DOGE has been one of them, gave me a very good return.

I was making fun of Doge when it hit the first spike to 8 cents lol. I can't believe where it is at now.

Same supply as Fiat I suppose, unlimited!!! To the moon!!!

I wonder if Musk owns any, or if he is just playing a joke on everyone. Him and his friends are probably laughing about how anything he says the internet just goes crazy for.

Looking at a profit calculator, seems like if I held my doge from Jan and sold right now, I would have almost 3 mill. Damn. Who could've predicted doge going this high LOL. Instead I sold for a loss early on.

I would have about $200,000 myself.

But let's be real, we didn't do anything wrong.

I first held dogecoin in 2017 when I had no idea. When I realise I bought something worthless I got rid of it.

It is 100% designed to dump forever.
It's a pump and dump end of story.

Would have, could have should of.

No way for you to have known, and you. probsbly wouldn't have held this long anyway.

Move on.

Agreed. I got out because I didn't want to wait and depend on a random tweet to increase the price and since it was designed to dump forever.

Hey boss!

Here's my return!

Accountant:
So that's one cumrocket token.... Wait what?

View attachment 37895yes this is a coin.

Ha, a buddy and I were discussing how NFTs/decentralization could be applied to the e-girl/onlyfans industry months ago, interesting to see an attempt to do that, but this particular coin is just another rug pull isn't it? I (seriously) looked at the "CumRocket" whitepaper & team...it's lead by a TikTok influencer...probably good for a pump and dump (heh) not really a long term hold, would you agree?

I sniff my hopium from other forms of wizardry than TA - but if charts were telling of a story unfolding, the above weekly ETHBTC chart would be quite telling.

Do with that what you will
