Well if they created a smartphone interface as an app then millennial's would probably be beating down their door for one. Imagine being able to flush your loo from work or a few hundred miles away. That's sure to get some people interested. o_O

Wish granted. Looks like Korea is the go to source for these things...

what about a business that imports and / or installs modern/luxury toilets?

Honestly - I think this could work REALLY well.

Sure, offering fancy toilet seats and bidets and such online (like on Amazon) might work as a product-based business but I think this actually has the potential to be a larger, franchise style business.

Just brainstorming here but I envision a business model where you:

- Send very well made mailers/fliers to every mailing address in upscale areas (or even try door to door)
- Hire someone to do the installs (or do them yourself)
- Include a promotion where if any friends/family buy at the same time everyone gets X % off.
- Follow up with all sales to offer a referral promotion (X% off again) for any future business
- Added business (subscription?) could be built in by offering whatever products the toilets use to produce scents
- Added business from repairs or replacement parts on products outside of warranty.

If you could work out the kinks of getting the business model and systems under control, you could easily franchise this out.

The biggest pitfall I see is that maybe North America is just too prudish about this stuff to even consider it. I know there's a lot of people who consider the idea of even something like a simple bidet to be "weird/awkward/gross". Then again, people have been eating up (bad phrasing) the trend of odor removing toilet drops and flushable wet wipes so maybe the market IS ready.

It would be one of the few things they still haven't made a FitBit-like app for. "Track your poop! Be healthy! Be alerted of abnormal bowel movements!"

I say make the bidet a thing already, that's where you're losing the race, guys!
