Working on an important proposal for the 5th. Very important project for me ( the scope :500 children, 8 weeks, potential profil : $ 300 000 for 8 weeks of work )
I have a question : how do you put on a table an exclusivity rights for 5 years minimum without scaring the other party

I woke up early New Years day and sent out a few hundred "Happy New Year" emails to prospects of varying warmth.

One response back yesterday and two more this morning. Three responses out of a few hundred might now sound like much, but each new client is potentially worth 5 figures over the course of a year. Not bad since most people were still hung over and passed out.

I'm hopeful for what Monday brings since hardly anyone is wven in the office this week. The number of "I'll be out of the office from 12/24 through 1/5" autoresponses I got was staggering.

It reminds me of what a very successful friend told me once. Work when everyone else is playing and you can play while they are working.

Loving the enthusiasm and positive vibes. I have an accountability worksheet up before 6am 4 days a week minimum, and 30 mins a day working on the business, and overall business development. Excited to see where it leads. Best to everyone this year.

Include a performance clause.

I.e. : If we can do XXX the contract auto renews.

If we fail to do XXX, then the contract us up for annual renewal discussions.

Make the auto renew threshold low enough that you know you will hit the target.

how many hours of sleep are some of you getting? (the ones who are getting up early)
Depends but usually 6 to 6.5 hours. Less if self-emposed deadlines are looming.

I try to sleep 6 hours, sometimes less. Wake up at 5, so I go to bed 10:30, because most times it takes me pretty long to fall asleep due to a racing mind, which sucks. Trying to get rid of it with meditation..

Probably 6 hours. Hard to tell because it's rarely uninterrupted due to small kids waking. Would love to have a routine and sleep 8 hours again. I don't think it's to do with how long I sleep though, but how effective I use my waking hours.

Genius. So simple. Wouldn't have even thought of it.

Thanks.

I've read that sleep from hours of 10pm-4am are essentially worth double in terms of your bodies sleep cycle. I typically was getting to bed from 10pm-11pm and up at 5:50. I have a young daughter that isn't sleeping through the night so that usually means waking up around 2-3 to get her and bring her to wife to feed. Lately tho I've been staying up to 11:30-12:30 reading and researching which has definitely made my morning routine a little sluggish.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one with kids. Got a 5 and 7 year old. They thrive on my attention which is distracting when I am trying to get stuff done. Thank God school starts back up on January 5th. Time to get busy! Last 2 weeks super unproductive, business wise but I guess I got that work/life balance stuff done with.

What I've found helpful for work/life balance and time spent with family is to designate clean boundaries of time spent with your family and time spent work. For example, I set aside 1 hr minimum a day to spend time with my daughter. During that time I'm not checking my phone or have my laptop/ipad open. On the converse, I designate a specific allotted time where I am at work and not blurring the lines of being a dad/entre/work.

Not sure if that helps, but it works for me

Rhode Island for now.
The mornings are the best time to get stuff done.

On Sundays (today), I'm up at 530am and do my laundry.
Why?
Because doing laundry at 530am sucks.

And on the one day off a week that I have, might as well start it with some crappy work so I can do work that I love later.

2014 was epic, and it started with some meditations in the morning, working out and taking care of my body.
Then doing deals.

Mornings rule. Everyone is asleep, no one is thinking hard.
Hustlers are always hustling.

Goal is to increase sales from $2.5M in 2014 to $2.85M in 2015. Up sunday morning working on it.
