Am I stupid?

Hi guys.

This post is about choices and morality.

Mostly, I just read and follow stuff on this forum.

But I have a problem now. It's that by being this kind of observer that I am.

I have grown my morality almost too much.

I have ideas but I just don't want to take action with most of them. Because I think they lack in morality.

This is something that has grown on me, especially during the last year or so.

Here are some of the fields:

Plastic surgery and boob job implants.

I want to create a site on this where I let plastic surgeons post their before and after shots of their clients.
Also maybe offer a booking system for a fee to the customer, to book online. Million dollar idea? Probably, if executed right. I don't want to do this because some people are really insecure about their body and are obessed with it. Which may lead to suicide.

Porn review site through video.

I have done porn before. I didn't have a problem with it then(2004) but I have now. I made like $350 after spending $100 on advertising. Now, I have a decent domain name for this, but I don't feel that porn is where I want to make my money. I don't want to be that pervert, who made it in porn.

But I tell you, porn is probably the easiest way to make money on the net. Especially, if you can think outside of the box. But there are tons of scammy/shady people in this industry.

Mature sex system.

Selling a guide on how to get sex from mature women. Regged the domain name a year or so ago. But I don't want to do it now. Plus, I don't want to sound like some charlatan pitchmaker who knows how to get sex(And only sex) from mature women. Could this make me millions? Probably not a million dollar idea. But I could make a few thousand dollars a month.

Penis anxiety.

This is a niche I came up with after I had closed my "natural penis enlargement" site (Made two sales and then closed the site).

I don't want to do the anxiety thing because it really speaks to peoples insecurities and I don't want to come across as an expert, when I'm just a normal dude. It's a sensitive field. Right?

Also, it's kind of the same as the self help niche. Not much of value can be said in this field. Because, it's about how we think and the mind.

This is not really a million dollar idea. But the "anxiety" field is bigger than the "penis enlargement" field. Which, tells me that I could make six figures a year if I execute on this idea right.

Dating site/White label.

People lie and post fake profiles on dating sites. There are cartels in Russia who do nothing but post fake profiles on dating sites to lure men in to paying top dollars for "personal stuff" for the fake profiles.


What should I do. Do I have a problem? I'm thinking that I maybe should look for a partner. To easy the pain of it, or what you could call it. What do you guys think? Am I stupid for not executing on the ideas that I have?

P.S. I will close this thread after a day or two. I just want a few replies to see what people are saying.

Yeah, dating is kind of sh*t but it's probably the one thing of the five, I feel best about.

Maybe, I just can't imagine myself, creating a product that meets my high standards.

Part of what stopped me from opening a strip club. If I have kids, I don't want them being the kid with a dad who owns a strip club. It would be more awkward if their classmates mom's worked for me. haha

But I guess, this is a good start.

Maybe, I should just develop the sites, and then sell them after 2-3 months or so.

I would feel much better doing that, than owning them and running them for a year or longer.

We always say if you are going to start a business make sure it's something you are passionate about. It does not sound like you have a passion for any of the ideas listed. As far as the porn site, if you have a good domain and think you can build a great site and get people to it then maybe you do it and in a yr when it is going well you sell it for a large sum of money.

Maxjohan, it seems like you've come up with excuses for not doing any of the "ideas" (and I use that term loosely) that you've had. You aren't any different than anyone else, though I would say that your ideas are pretty unoriginal (though, I don't disagree that they could make you millions).

If the "morality" (or lack thereof) of the ideas doesn't bother you, then don't let it bother you and go for it.

Unless the lack of action stems from just that, i.e. lack of action. Or, as someone else suggested, you aren't passionate about those ideas, in which case you would not feel motivated to act on them.

Pick something and do it. That's always the best choice.

We always say if you are going to start a business make sure it's something you are passionate about.

Who is we? If you've read The Millionaire Fastlane , then you know, nobody cares about your passion. But I get your point though. Not everyone are made to make it, in something they don't have 100% passion for. It takes a special type of personality and selflessness.

As far as the porn site, if you have a good domain and think you can build a great site and get people to it then maybe you do it and in a yr when it is going well you sell it for a large sum of money.

It seems like you have mental barriers that are causing you too much resistance.

Perhaps it would be wise to write out a plan of execution and follow it through on one of those ideas.

Nah, I don't think I am a action faker on my ideas. Though, I have been one of its biggest of its kind. But that was many years ago when I surfed CNN and I couldn't figure out, why I didn't make any money online.

What really is holding me back now, is what I have stated in my first post. Meaning, battling with my moral codes for the things I stated. I don't think that has to be related with action faking. I have even made a few Powerpoint videos for two of the things, that I mentioned.

Yes. I don't think I have any big passion for any of the things that I mentioned. Maybe the porn review site. But I don't think passion should stop you. At least, try to not stop you.

There is a lot of money to be made in the porn industry. But seriously I wouldn't be very proud of me if I owned and made my money with stuff like that. I'm thinking about this and the amount of women/men who had played in those videos is huge. Very disturbing. Don't these people have morals/ethics? This is seriously f*cked up. I don't know what my reaction would be if I saw a member of my family/girlfriend on those sites. I think I would be pretty mad at them for sure. It's like 1 on 5 women have done porn at a point in their life. And their nude body is exposed to EVERYONE in the world forever. i.e. you walk on the street and you recognize the girl that you saw yesterday. WTF. It's "normal" I guess. It's just unbelievable what people are willing to do for $500 or so.

I can relate because I'm doing a business related to the Strip club industry. I asked myself the same questions of morality. I also have children. One of our bright members suggested I do something positive within my website...That's what I'm doing and I feel good about it, even though the whole industry kinda sucks. (no pun intended).

You know...there are MANY problems to solve, many businesses that do business poorly, many things that will make people's lives better. Just look around and find something that you will be happy with.

And my opinion on the 'do something your passionate about'...That would be nice, but I'm driven by other, deeper reasons for wanting to drive in the Fastlane. I am not passionate about my business and I'm still excited every morning to get up and rock and roll !

I only found one site that seemed to be an authority site, and that was the site that you posted. I did a search for "plastic surgery reviews". I think there is enough SE traffic out there for two sites or three maybe.

Especially, if I focus on before and after shots with possibilty to rate the pictures. I actually have a site up about this. But it's for haircuts and only half finished. And not how I want it. As it's not fully complete.

I got the site made for free because someone was looking for a fun PHP project to do a couple years ago.

Thanks for the creativity comment. It's where I want to shine and what I am quite good at. But I've had some crazy ideas too over the years. Things that couldn't work out no matter what, I think.

The important thing I think, is to recognize a good idea, a bad idea and an over-creative idea.

Then, also if you want to take it to the next level. Recognize a big and good idea.

Big = Something that can get huge and make you a lot of money.

Like 10's of millions or a billion or more.

But with big ideas, often costs/expenses increases.

This whole thread made me laugh. There is definitely money in everything you mentioned. MJ points out in his book that having passion for what you do doesn't matter. The point is to make money efficiently so you have time to enjoy your passion. However, I would say a moral objection is a little different, because when your conscience gets involved, it could easily sabotage your business. If there is a moral objection in there, even subconscious, I could imagine you will find a way to somehow sabotage your efforts.

I have been getting over past religious issues related to making money (I was raised to be super super super humble and unassuming, not exactly good for business - and not my natural personality). Personally, I would be reluctant to do any of things you suggest openly, because of my current day job (morality matters to the people in charge) but a lot of it can be done pretty much anonymously I would think.
