Most of my time is being spent on my health:
-Three hours a day hooked up to an oxygen generator.
-Taking medication four times a day.
-Cooking extremely healthy (and not always tasty) food.
-Getting enough rest.
-Sleeping at least 8 hours a night.
-Following my doctors instructions.

I have very little time for anything else, but have started putting together a dinner fundraiser hoping to use the proceeds to create a nonprofit. So this is what I have been doing:
-Started a blog to chronicle the process.
-Got a Twitter account.
-Contacting local culinary schools to see if I can "showcase" some of their more advanced students for my fundraiser.
-Searching for proper venues on the web... then will drive out to the visit them.

As soon as these things are done, I will be:
-Accumulating cost estimates and writing a proposal to attract corporate sponsors.

This process may take a while due to my demanding "health" schedule, but it's getting done little by little. I want this to be a very nice, classy event that can be repeated once a month, every month, so I'm taking my time.

The overall goals are that I am focusing on these categories(in no particular order, IMO, success is defined by performance in ALL of them):

1) eCommerce: -FIND A MARKET/MICRO-NICHE AND PRODUCTS!(finding suppliers now for my running store, but staying open to more niche level ideas)
2) Personal Finance: -MANAGE/ELIMINATE EXPENSES AND BILLS
3) Friends/Family: -KEEP IN TOUCH AND IN THE LOOP WITH THOSE IMPORTANT TO ME
4) Diet: -EAT NATURAL FOODS AND DON’T OVERINDULGE!
5) Fitness: -ATLEAST 30MINS OF ACTIVITY EVERY DAY!
6) Household: -ELIMINATE CLUTTER AND SELL, DONATE, DUMP STUFF!

Some of the big things that need to be accomplished by the end of the month:
-have products up on eCommerce store and start making sales
-sell motorcycle
-maintain contact with the 10-15 most important people in my life
-no processed foods and fruits/veggies atleast 2x/day
-atleast 30 min walk every morning with running workouts starting soon
-be ready to leave house(put it up for sale on Sat).. meaning plenty of craigslist postings, Goodwill trips and garbage runs :coolgleamA:

Bump on this thread for a new month ...

For me,

I'm taking a working vacation in Laguna Beach for the rest of the summer as I rented a place out here on the Pacific Ocean ... I work mornings (book stuff) work out in the afternoon, and swim/freeze in the ocean in the late afternoon. Meanwhile back at home, my family has taken it upon themselves to move in and use my home as a party place ... they're having a BBQ this weekend and WTF? I'm not there?

My projects (goals) to work on while I am here:

1) Read a boatload of books as I sit on the beach
-- Randy Pausch's Last Lecture
-- Photoshop Classroom in a Book
-- How to Market Your Books, by J Kremer
-- The Self-Publishing Manual
-- Think n Grow Rich (haven't read it in 20 years)

2) Get my book's first print run off to the printer (looks like will happen this month!) The printer has been selected, and hired.

3) Redesign this forum (and possibly move it) in anticipation of the book release and branding strategy. TheFastlaneToMillions is heading into it's final days and will be moved to TheFastlaneForum.com.

4) Get the article portion of this site back on track under a different domain. (FastlaneEntrepreneurs.com)

5) Relaunch the book's primary domain (finished, just haven't uploaded)

6) Get distribution for book. (I need some of the things above to be finished before I can make application)

7) Set the release date and bound book date.

8) Move first run to fulfillment center (fulfillment center already chosen and hired!)

As you can see, this is no vacation but my skin sure shows like a darkened fool that's been living on the beach for the last two weeks.

The release date is the "official release" and is usually several months AFTER the book has been available. The BBD is more like when the book will be available for purchase. So my BBD might be October 2010 while ORD might be Feb 2011.

Yea, that is what is taking so long ... I'm practicing what I preach ... about owning the processes and not slicing up your pie among patriarchial control structures ... owning the publishing company is being a DRIVER while using a POD service would be a HITCHHIKER/PASSENGER relationship. Top it off, POD is a no-entry barrier situation and violates another one of my rules and traditionally gets no respect from the publishing industry, specifically, book buyers for the chains.

So yes, I could effectively sign on other authors and represent them.

Nice, so your making more money by self publishing while keeping complete control of the book.

Do you mention this anywhere in the book itself? Maybe at the very end as a last thought.

The book you are reading is a prime example of the fastlane concept. The author self published this very book you are reading in your hands to emphasis being the driver as opposed to being the passenger.
or something to that effect, I think that would be cool.

It has been a while. Great to see this thread come back to life!

August goals:

  • Settle on two properties currently under contract (sale)
  • Complete construction and list 2 properties
  • Put two new properties under contract (purchase)
  • Revise and submit final offer on small business (and hopefully get acceptance!)
  • Schedule meeting with prospect #2
  • Meet with Diane Kennedy for Tax Strategy session
  • Book California trip (vacation)
  • FL visit for property management review
  • Yoga/Circuit training/Running
  • Finish reading EMyth
My husband and I recently had our mid-year meeting to review our 2010 goals and set new ones for the 2nd half of the year. We were able to check off quite a few but my-oh-my is that white board full with tasks to complete for December!

Yes, first time on EMyth (what took me so long)!!??? My very first ipad book. :)

Where is the workshop and what does it entail?

I will certainly communicate your greetings to Diane. Really excited to get her feedback. Have been trying to hook up with her for years but Richard had informed us that it didn't make much sense before, as there wasn't much value for her to add to our situation. We finally have an income problem (?), which is good news, I suppose?

Oh, and one of my goals for October may be to meet Russ H. :) My brother is expecting a baby and we are coming out to SD meet our nephew! Hoping to make the drive up PCH to hit SF and Napa too!

It will specifically be for innkeepers, in Charleston, SC.

Diane is *great* for that. We haven't met w/her either (same reason). But we continue to get wealth coaching from Tom Wheelright.

Wow, that would be *way* cool! Let me know how that develops! Happy to show you around our little corner of the world. :)

3 weeks in with trading and my account is down a slight percentage as of today. What I've learned from the current market environment is that it seems there's a tug o'war with volatility between companies with solid fundamentals and the uncertainty of the economic environment.

What is good though is that I was able to identify and take advantage of profitable setups, but the targets I'm use to achieving aren't getting reached and my profitable trades are turning into break evens.

Starting next week I'm adjusting my strategy to compensate for this unsure market environment and hopefully will be able to finish my first four months in the black.

On a side note for traders, the last stock I've been trading was CRUS Cirrus Logic and have been on both the long and short sides.

Its a slow freaken year, I hope the economy starts to pick up at some point.

Just finished the final touches on the website for my new tutoring company last night.
Sent to my partner for final edits, adding music and stock photos.
Will probably take it live next week after Bio photos have been taken and uploaded.
After taken live, I will create the Facebook, Twitter and Blog for the site.
Definitely live by Sept. 30th...right in time for tutoring season to kick into gear!

ACE - The Academy of Creative Education
We already have one client that we meet with next week.
Another one is lined up behind her. Things are looking good!

I closed on another property in Phoenix, AZ last week. I was able to purchase it at 20% gross rental income.

I sold one of my properties in Toronto, Canada two weeks ago. Closing date is the first week of October.

My stock portfolio is up over 31% YTD. If this return holds, it will be the first time that I have had back-to-back years of over-30% returns (last year my return was 31.6%).

The web site in my sig outlines a few of the things I do on a year-to-year basis.

ATW,
Very good to see you back. Hope the PM company is going well.

Been working hard to get my first solo property flipped. Had one under contract, but wisely backed out. The numbers didn't work. Had another seller who was ready to go under contract, but backed out at the last second.
Have a house for my wife and I under contract. This would qualify as a flip we choose to, but it will make a great home. Working on making the current home our 3rd rental.

Currently retooling my marketing strategy and getting that ball rolling.
Have spent the last few months concentrating on improving myself through daily habits. Making solid progress.

We have nearly reached our savings goals (the house will likely set this back) and continue to tweak them.
After 3 months of missing our budget and having to makeup the difference in savings, we have hit our budget solidly for the last 6 months.

Had to fire my property manager and getting the new one going. So far I am about 50% happy with his progress on our vacant rental. Will use a 2nd company on the 3rd rental. I want to have a backup in place as we continue to grow our portfolio.

BTW, Sonya if you and Doug ever scale your pm business to oh say ...Denver, let me know. Montana landlords don't know how good they got it.
