Some of you may remember me from a while back from my thread on D2D sales.
After I got out of sales I started up a new company that helped homeowners prevent door to door solicitors from annoying them.
Unfortunately that business crashed and burned. Story for another time.
After that I was wondering what to do when, by accident, I had a person reach out to me in a subreddit I was VERY well known and respected in offer me a very hefty commission for each person I send their way. I vetted him and seen he was legit so I agreed.
My reddit account was 13 years and old there were three subs that I was very well known and very respected in. I was a mod of one. I constantly posted very high quality content and due to my 13 years of post history and social proof from everyone else, people listened to me. So I found similar deals for the other two niches related to the subs I was in.
Long story short, for the last 6 months I have been averaging $7,000 USD a month from this.
Post good high quality content -> message people who reply -> pre qualify them on how much pain their problem was causing -> set up a call with the expert -> collect commission if they become a member.
I can't stress how this only worked because I have spent 13 YEARS in each of these subs building my reputation. There were dudes giving the same advice as me would be instantly called out as "scammer" and "fraud" because they were new accounts.
Somehow a couple days ago my account was hacked. Someone managed to bypass 2FA, change the email, and then change the password.
I contacted reddit and was basically told "tough shit."
Talked to a lawyer and was told the same thing.
Im beyond frustrated right now. When it comes to CENTS, "control" is no joke.
But how do you really control anything when some Indian dude thousands of miles away can hack any digital assets and own it? (The new email was some Indian name using a hotmail address).
I don't know. Just wanted to vent.
