That's right, I make over $800 per month with apps.

Is it a lot? Honestly, it's not much. If I lived in the United States, it wouldn't even cover the cost of a liter of milk. However, since the most common salary in my country is around $19,800 annually ($1,650 monthly), it's a considerable help.

Am I the most qualified person to give advice on making money with apps?​

Well, the truth is, I don't make a living from apps, so not really.

Why am I writing this?​

Because I believe I have something to contribute, since I've achieved it in one year by dedicating 8 hours per week.

Tip #1 - Avoid trends​

Right now, everyone is creating AI apps, AI SaaS, AI websites.

Can you guess what happens when everyone jumps on the same bandwagon?

The market gets saturated.

Which means you don't make money, and I don't know about you, but I'm here to make money.

It's a rat race.

Don't do the same as everyone else.

Tip #2 - Focus on the offline world​

It's something that happens to all of us who are passionate about computer science.

We always think about how we can create an online business for the online world.

But you know what? Since most of the people who make apps are nerds like us, this market is heavily saturated.

Instead, focus on what you can do online for the offline world.

There are hundreds of professions in the offline world:

• Carpenters
• Plumbers
• Electricians
• Nurses
• ...

These people use a lot of calculations and need a lot of things:

• Apps for budgeting
• Invoice generators
• Accounting software
• Specialized calculators for each profession ...
• ...

Tip #3 - Don't aim for the Big Win (at least initially), and don't release garbage​

In app stores, you'll find two types of people:

• Those who create apps that are terrible and useless.
• Those who want to create the next Facebook, Instagram, TikTok...

I can say one thing about you with a 99% certainty:

• You won't create the next Facebook.

Why do I know that? Pure statistics. I can almost guarantee that 99 out of every 100 people reading this article won't become billionaires by launching a website that will change the tech ecosystem as we know it.

Do yourself a favor and put mathematics to work for you.

But be careful, don't release garbage either. Yes, at the beginning, you should aim for an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), I totally agree.

But that doesn't mean you should release apps that are utter rubbish.

Personally, I release apps that match the competition in all aspects and are slightly better in some areas, such as:

• Usability
• Price
• Design
• Features
• ...

• Don't follow trends.
• Focus on what you can do to improve the offline world.
• Don't try to change the world; change your financial situation first. However, keep in mind that if you want to make money, you need to improve existing apps.
