I, for one, didn’t see this coming. Was sure she’d get slapped on the wrist. But…

Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of blood-testing startup Theranos, was found guilty Monday on two counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit fraud. The verdict followed a three-month trial. The fallen Silicon Valley star now faces up to 20 years in prison for each count, though legal experts say she is unlikely to receive close to the maximum sentence.

I thought this was a pretty interesting and eye opening video about where a company's real value is.

The really interesting part to me is that I always thought that a Chase mileage plus card was a credit card owned by United. By Chase is basically purchasing miles from United to give to its users. So these airlines are generating income on all the miles that we are awarded. Talk about a revenue stream! They get more revenue from selling miles than they do flying.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggUduBmvQ_4
This is great! It helped to open up my thinking to other ways to get revenue streams. I had no idea it worked this way!

best way to guarantee prison: rip off someone who is much, much richer.

Is it @GlobalWealth ?

Forming an LLC is not too complex, but I only know of it for citizens.

I have filed and successfully gained my own trademarks - shoot me a pm if you're reading this and need to trademark something (as long as you're in the US)

Poignant.

I still have the last text messages from my late brother in my phone. :(

Damn, I'd give you a hug after hearing that bud.

I'm lucky enough to not yet know what you or poster of that Tweet are feeling.

There are thousands of books that talk about making your life better. I’ll summarize:
- get a lot of sleep
- exercise
- avoid shitty people
- spend less than you make
- never stop learning

Pro Tip: Don't clean your computer keyboard/mouse with a disinfecting sanitizing wipe while your trading platform is open, you might find yourself accidentally buying (or selling short) 1000 shares of Amazon ($3.3M).

There are thousands of books that talk about making your life better. I’ll summarize:

And for "wealth" it's always the same shit: Save your money and put it in indexed-funds. There, I saved everyone from reading 512,401 books on wealth. This is why I write.

He’s completely right.

The trades pay very well, they are in high demand, and they require serious skill.

There are not enough people to fill those jobs, at least in America.

Oh and by the way, starting a business in the trades can make you very rich. Definitely fastlane if you’re smart about it.

Imagine an industry where just answering the phone and showing up on time is a primary value skew ... that perfectly describes most of the trades.

Just found out the president of a company in my network is 92 years old.

He's been in business long enough to have been able to hang it up decades ago, but I guess some people just never want to retire.

Found this gem in a Seeking Alpha article on Charlie Munger doubling his buys into BABA (despite poor China stocks sentiment):

Guy I live with made 500k AUD profit this year in his 4th year of being a tradie, himself and a second van driver he put on 12 months ago. He's putting another 2 on this year and will be completely off the tools in a few months.

Bonus points for getting involved in a trade that specialises in tv services lol, people gots to have their MSM on a brand new 85 inch Samsung that's wall mounted.

Pretty cool AI tool if you want to animate your kid's illustrations:

When you think about it, how crazy is that kids these days can draw something and almost instantly see it animated right on a screen in front of them?

Really liked this quote and the book. Wisdom at its purest.

"This may sound counterintuitive, but I deeply believe that the path to happiness in a relationship is not just about finding someone who you think is going to make you happy. Rather, the reverse is equally true: the path to happiness is about finding someone who you want to make happy, someone whose happiness is worth devoting yourself to."

Thinking that you're responsible for your partner's happiness sounds like a recipe for a bad relationship. Same in reverse: if you expect someone else to make you happy (or devote themselves to making you happy), it won't make you happy.

I absolutely support the idea of devoting yourself to your partner (in terms of support in whatever shape they need) but I don't like how it's worded in this quote.

@MTF as someone who's been with the same person for over 20 years, build a family... and counting my lucky stars for meeting her as early as I did... I respectfully ask you to re-read the whole quote. Do not pick one sentence and re-interpret it. It's about balance. So while I don't disagree with what you said: "Thinking that you're responsible for your partner's happiness sounds like a recipe for a bad relationship.", I believe you are interpreting the quote very differently from how I am reading it. ;)
