I need an app or video subscription that gives me a new jiu jitsu move each time. Just one move slow, explained, practiced. Anybody got any ideas on that? I’m sick of not being in the gym and I can only practice shrimping and doing choke holds on my man for so long. Hehehe. Seriously tho. Help me. Please.
Weightlifting? Didn't see this coming so soon...

Peter posted about Weightlifting mirror/video display.
Not a answer to Your need but there might be new use for such smart mirrors - at home martial arts training.

I was just thinking, some “lifestyle” businesses are intended to earn $100,000 per year for the owner with nearly all of that going back into your pocket.

For our company, this year our revenue is going to end a bit above $7 million, and that is a horrible year. Like, losing money kind of year.

It’s all time and scale. You can struggle with 10 employees or 100 employees, just like you have good years with 10 or 100.

The good years will come back. Our industry has just been slowed way down this year. Gotta weather storms every now and then, and remember not to go crazy during the profitable times!

When I put my “consumer hat” on I’m also mindful that there too I have a duty to maximize utility. Sure that Porsche is tempting. But the value it loses and the maintenance required can be viewed as a “waste”. I take pride in making sure nothing is wasted. And If I do buy a car like that it’ll be well taken care of.

Same mentality I bring to the table when I think of a business idea. When I put my “producer hat” on. How can I eliminate waste?

Repeat after me: I'm an idiot for never having checked out Upwork when my freelance work dried up and taking a job instead.

Always had it in mind as a smug Fiverr. But there's some good jobs there that pay a lot better. And a lot of jobs I'm really qualified for.

This is why I'd never want to own a "real" company lol. I'd take $100,000 a year in my pocket and being my own boss with little to no burdens any day over running a big company, making millions in revenue, but not getting anything out of it in profit.

But I'm glad there are people who like that. And I wish you all the best. You seem to have a long-term perspective and that's the only way forward in these crazy times.

The thought of running a huge company and being responsible for a bunch of employees seems too stressful to me.

Create the service, brand it, raise the funds and just hire a CEO. The seven seats on the board of directors will be a clone of you, each with a different expertise.  Profit and repeat. Infinite money.

All meetings will be held via video chat while on the beach.

That's a problem for people all across the board - small, 1 person ventures
and $10billion-in-funding companies.

Someone wrote that "Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity".

This is so ridiculous that I just can't believe the world we live in. For six days, dogs in South Australia will need to piss and shit in the apartments of their owners. Unless you go to the supermarket, then once a day your dog can leave (what a ridiculous loophole). So generous!

I pity intelligent Australians who need to co-exist with people like Andrea who's delighted to be a prisoner for the sake of "safety."

@Timmy C I guess you're not surprised by that...

I could see this being important to someone who came from a social/team background. Say for example, someone who was the quarterback of the high school football team. Now he wants to lead a big "team" in business. It simply fits someone's personality.

On the other hand, you have the geeky loner guy who wants to be left alone, and a small 1 or 2 person business suits him just fine. I'm more of that style.

One size doesn't fit all.

Do what suits you, your goals, and your personality.

Or you get so big that you're back to being the geeky loner guy ;)

At that point your better off not even showing up to your high school reunion. I don’t think they make those Astronaut suits in big and tall.

Nothing like drinking a sprite alone in a costume on a scooter in some Marriott convention room.

Interesting. I was thinking about this earlier. I didn’t like team sports. My chosen sports and activities back in the day were sprinting and then motor bikes. Both are lone pursuits where we endlessly practice a few techniques, and where the joy comes from applying those techniques to move effortlessly at pace. I still like working mostly alone, doing a few things repeatedly, and at pace.

I'm not surprised at all @MTF

I am a Club Manager at a gym in Melbourne where masks are Mandatory. I have refused to enforce the rules as I think it's disgusting that they are making people wear masks while working out. (Yes, this is a law)

My boss hasn't said a word to me about it as he is on my side, from what I can tell. I said if they are making the vaccine compulsory, I won't take it. He said if the government says employees have to take it, he won't make me as he doesn't even want it.

When I see ''new normal'' on our company sheets, I feel like vomiting.

How do you feel about all of this man?

I think the shit has gone way too far.

Don’t really know what to think about any of it to be honest mate, masks don’t work, lockdowns are bad yet here we are... We did the lockdown thing months ago for a few weeks but it wasn’t as strict as this, is the virus more contagious this time? More people dying now?

Who knows what it’s all about, none of us want to go through a lockdown like you guys had though, my families all in Victoria, my grandpa died earlier in the year and we haven’t been able to go to Vic for a funeral yet, nans been in her house alone basically the whole time, my aunty couldn’t visit her new born grandchild because my cousin lived like a km outside the 5km zone...

I don’t think there’s ever been a situation where a lockdown wasn’t extended so I’m not expecting this to be over in 6 days, have to see what happens I guess. I live walking distance to a few bottle shops so that’s something ha

Our lockdowns lifted as of Saturday night. One of the positive cases lied about his contact tracing movements which has caused the whole thing.

If the government app they created and spent 10 million on actually worked this wouldn’t have happened

If anyone is around legalized gambling and wants the easiest money ever made, take the Seattle Seahawks to cover the spread on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals. If I was in Vegas, I'd be making a big bet.

Told ya all.

There goes your chance at easily millions. Cards lose, and they don't cover.

The joys of delivering your products to apartment buildings, and getting the wrong buzzer number & you can't find their name on the directory.... OR, they don't answer the buzzer

Fastlane storytime: Freicycle

Freicycle is not a fastlane story. Hell, it's not even a company.

Freicycle is the name given to the lightest electric bike in the world. Its conceptor, Dennis Freiburg, made it as his topic for his PhD in engineering.

What he did was smart. He took the lightest bike in the world, and wondered how he could make it even lighter. He 3D-printed the pedals and other parts, and used a reduced model of helicopter engine to power the bike.

Result: 6.8 kg.

Compared to the actual lightest bike in the market at the moment, (12kg), this one is a real productocracy!!!

Freiburg doesn't even intend on selling his bike. Lol.

Moral of the story: you don't even need to "create" a product. Take anything that already exists, and improve it.

New goal.. hire an employee to do my deliveries.

Minimum wage is $14.60, a part time expense would run me $1,168 (a few hundred sales which I don't have)

Run a business.... not work in it right?

YES! Be the CEO, not the deliveryman!

Have you thought of contract hires or even a delivery service? You can start with a portion of your deliveries and work your way up...

I don't know the Canadian wage situation, but it could be worth a consideration.

Well I tried hiring for a driving position and noone was happy with $20 hour, (I believe Amazon pays like 17 or 18) they wanted more so I gave up and decided to fulfill my own orders for now, delivery services are quite expensive and would cut my profits, ideally an employee would be optimal with me controlling everything & and a fixed wage.

Companies around here charge $10 or so per item which is more than the value of my product, so no bueno.. and don't feel its fair to charge that amount to customers. Discovering a new problem is always fun, with thousaunds of orders I'm not sure what I would do.. work in progress
