Hello all,
I plan to post all progress on what I'm working on here. Hopefully I get called out on action-faking.

I've had 2 interviews with potential customers searching for needs and if there is interest in my idea. (I'm counting my mom and sister as potential customers)

I have 3 interviews scheduled for the 13th, 2 in person, 1 over the phone. I have another interview scheduled for the 14th and another on the 16th.

I'll post daily about the results of my interviews and other steps I take.

How'd the interviews go?

Nice!

I'll be the first to call you out. Your mom and sister is action-faking unless they spent 4-figures+ on the product you're selling per year.

How'd your interviews go today?

Best of luck.

I'm researching an idea that involves people with food allergies/intolerances/ dietary restrictions, which my mom and sister both have. They both probably spend over $4000/ year on food.
That is a great thought to keep in mind as I interview people- How much does your current solution cost? Thank you for that!

I had two phone interviews and 1 in person interview.
The in person interview went for about an hour, and I'm trying to keep them 20-30 minutes. This was with someone my sister got me in touch with.
They are dealing with some pretty significant pain points, so her input was very helpful.

The next interview was a phone call that lasted 23.5 minutes. He was semi helpful.

The next interview was a phone call that lasted just over 28 minutes. She was the most helpful and gave me some good ideas on pain points.

She was a great source and my wife and I had a great time talking with her. She is the type of person I had in mind when I started planning.

Had another prospective customer interview today. She has Celiac disease. More pain points found, some similar to other people. Expressed interest in my ideas to help. Was willing to talk again.

I had another interview today, 1/16/20. Similar pain points as other people with food intolerances. Some new ones as well.
She showed interest in some of my ideas, but wasn't super enthusiastic about any one.

I've read the think big then think bigger thread, and it's caused me to think about the small thing I had planned on.
I need to connect with local organic farmers and figure out what they can provide if I do X and if they are able to provide for 10X or 100X. I need to canvas the region for places that an provide the food once I reach a certain level, because I am going to reach that level.

I had another full interview today and two, more informal, interviews this afternoon and evening. Two had dietary restrictions by choice, but they still were really interested in the solution I presented. The other, informal interview was vegan because of doctors orders, and he was very excited about what I suggested, and he's a chef that has helped people start food trucks before and he has connections with local organic farms.
This was a good day. I need to act more and think less. Talking with people is great, and I'll continue to interview people, but I have a couple of steps I can do at the same time:

Talk to local organic farmers and,
Either get a job at a food establishment similar to what I want to do or interview their employees or managers.

Two questions I need to be asking myself daily and about each task I'm doing:
1. What is the reason for it?
2. How is it helping me reach a goal?
