You not posting absurd questions would definitely be worth $2100 to me.

I’m pretty sure he’s autistic. He could definitely add value to that community if he’s not.

My answer to the OP:

The only things I would pay $2100 for right now are: a vacation to somewhere cold, a vacation to somewhere hot, a vacation to visit my brother or a conversation that would help me get past this huge emotional wall I have about business.

I’m pretty sure he’s autistic. He could definitely add value to that community if he’s not.

Yes, I believe he's on the spectrum. I'm hard on him because he noted he wanted help in understanding social skills. This question is hard to answer without context. I'm not sure I get it... @LittleWolfie do you need to make $2100? There are plenty of things that would add $2100 worth the value. A new MacBook, some new furniture, some classes to enhance programming skills. Are you looking for ways to make money? It's probably better to explain why you need to make $2100 so we can better answer the question.

What is the goal you're trying to achieve?

or a conversation that would help me get past this huge emotional wall I have about business.

I sometimes write things as I think of them, and I wanted to add one little anecdote about one way psychology hampered my earning potential.

See our brains often aren't as intelligent as we'd like them to be. They make quick sweeping judgments that sometimes sacrifice accuracy for quickness.

Much of my adult life I've felt bad taking money from people. Even if I did them a great service, I'd feel bad taking their money. Even when it was obvious both parties benefited from the transaction. So I did a little digging as to why, and figured out the root event for this. The event was: when I was a kid my dad always gave me money. My dad was of course the male figure I most looked up to in my life, so I really respected the things he did. When I was below kindergarten age, he would always just give me $1, $5, $10.. whatever. So one day I thought it would be nice to give him a dollar. I mean he was always giving me money, so why not. I handed him a dollar, and the generous provider he was, he wouldn't accept it. He obviously wasn't being mean, he was just being a gentleman by not accepting a 3 year old's money. My mom saw it and was like "he's just trying to be nice... don't do that" and I don't remember if he took it or not. But in that momen a belief was formed: "gentlemen don't take money from people." No one here was being malicious, it was just that my father was my role model for what real men did. In that moment, I learned it was 'ungentlemanly' to accept money from people.

As you can imagine, this belief took a pretty large toll on my earning capacity throughout the years. I'd feel bad asking asking for money, I'd feel bad asking for more. All sorts of things.

Even if you have a benign upbringing with completely well-meaning parents, things can (and do) go wrong. And I think a good therapist can help you get to the roots of these things.

Thats very vague...

Really, I thought it was pretty specific. To the cent. Let me know what else you would like to know
I’m pretty sure he’s autistic. He could definitely add value to that community if he’s not.

I will give it a go, I'm really trying to hone in on business owners, so will try to find an audience of autistic business owners, to try and find their issues/problems
My answer to the OP:

The only things I would pay $2100 for right now are: a vacation to somewhere cold, a vacation to somewhere hot, vacation to visit my brother

You misunderstand me, the question is what would add that much value, rather than what you would pay for it. Following the ten times rule, I'd expect you to be willing to pay $207.75 for the things you value at the price suggested. You value these vacations at $21,000 presumably

or a conversation that would help me get past this huge emotional wall I have about business.

I was going to DM you, I have an unusual way of looking at things no idea if it will help or not but I could try, however your private, so please start a thread.

Yes, start a thread. There are plenty of people here that can help get you over your hurdle and it won't cost you $2100 either.

Who said anything about charging? Yes start a thread.

Talk it out. Let's make the best of this thread.

@ZCP While I want @Primeperiwinkle to solve their emotional wall problem, bear in mind answering my questions directly does add a lot of value to me. So deciding on making the best use of the thread depends on whom would benefit more.

@ChrisV

My first thought was to suggest you could pay me to avoid posting(at last I have found a way to monetize my content), of course I really doubt you seriously meant that.

Curious how trying to have a serious conversation based on the advice on the forum is apparently antagonistic.

That's a good way to start doing market research. First step is to always figure out a given population's needs.

No just tell us your goals so we can figure out exactly what you're trying to accomplish. That seems like a very specific number so I'm guessing there's a reason you need to make that amount of money.

This question is hard to answer without context. I'm not sure I get it...

I understand that, I get questions like that all the time and ask for more context.

I have two goals

1) understand value-adding better (perhaps more of a mindset thing) For instance either a MAcbook or some new furniture would add no value to me.
2) help me find a niche (see autistic business owners), the question served that purpose extremely well, despite (or becuase ) of lack of context in away previous discussions have been unable to do for me.

do you need to make $2100

No, just under a tenth of that per week.

It's probably better to explain why you need to make $2100 so we can better answer the question.

Firstly, I never said I need to make $2100,, my exact query was what would add $2077.50 USD in value to you, that is two thousand seventy seven dollars and fifty cents. Your trying to read between the lines, when everything is on the lines.

I want to ascertain what would add value then I can identify what of those items if any I could perform.

I have tried explaining why, I need to make money and am just accused of having a negative mindset or making excuses so it is more productive to ask questions, and ignore context.

Make it up if you like.

I'm on the spectrum, took a long time to understand how "people" think, talk, act, and move. You might consider studying your market, learn what makes the market you are trying to penetrate work, and then emulate the values they seek.
If wielded properly and with the lightest touch, being on the spectrum can be a benefit not an incumbrance. I would suggest more time in the real world and not in the forum. Does a world of difference for developing the thought process to engage the business oriented people that stalk these pages.
Currently you're just setting yourself up for ridicule due to the poorly planned content and what comes off as arrogance, even though it is only the lens you see the world through. Ask better question, more thought out questions. Review your questions from the viewpoint of "can people understand my message" not "people need to understand me"
Add value to the forum, not create speedbumps to the learning of others.

I may have cried a little at these. Thanks guys. If I knew how to talk it out I would have done so already. It’s frustrating not knowing which thread to pull on to unravel the ball.

So basically asking my main question in another way.
Oh Wolfie... :)

We need to get you to contain these to a single thread. Along those lines, we need to get you to contain yourself to a single concept. Something to obsess over that moves the needle for you.

If you could find a way to digest and reformulated the TAKE ACTION/ value first philosophy espoused here, format it into a system that helps you help others understand it, and get it into a course; then, you'd be able to sell it to the parents of the exponentially growing ASD population.

If you can use your disadvantage to power hope for the parents who just want to see their kids reach for the stars, you'd have an idea worth $2077/minute.

It sounds like you would perhaps be one of the best placed people to assist me, if you desired/
I would suggest more time in the real world and not in the forum.

sadly this is award due to my current situation, once I locate a suitable RL meetup it will be acted upon in due course

Currently you're just setting yourself up for ridicule

I'm fine with that, I just find it interesting that is there response.

due to the poorly planned content and what comes off as arrogance, even though it is only the lens you see the world through.

Perception of arrogance is interesting. As to poorly planned content, well I think on it for a while however it is perhaps difficult for them to see any planning (I never see theirs either)

Ask better question, more thought out questions.

Define better. What would show that it is more thought out?
Review your questions from the viewpoint of "can people understand my message" not "people need to understand me"

I did, and the question makes perfect sense to me. I am mystified why people might have trouble understanding. It is like if I said would you like a cup of tea, and you said what do you mean? I mean would you like to consume the proffered hot beverage of the tea plant? What is confusing about the question?

Add value to the forum
This requires me knowing what would add value to the forum, however asking that question is apparently a speed bump to others learning?

But there are literally infinite answers to that question.

Okay.. what would add $2100 (sorry, $2077.50*) worth the value to my life... here goes..
• 2002 bottles of Evian Spring Water
• A set of chef-grade professional steak knifes with a lifetime unlimited warranty
• 207.37 steaks to go with my steak knives
• 3.27 years of an unlimited-use carwash service
• A new iMac
• 420.42 Mocha Frappicinos from Starbucks
• A pet Serval cat
• 4.27 years worth the food for the pet Serval cat

And I'm only .0000000000000001 × 10⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹ % of the way through the list.

There are infinite things that can be worth $2100 ($2077.50 rather).. we have to know what you want to accomplish.

My answer is $207.50 in pretax income. I am working on solving it for myself, however I'm probably just too close to it.

Oh Wolfie... :)

We need to get you to contain these to a single thread. Along those lines, we need to get you to contain yourself to a single concept. Something to obsess over that moves the needle for you.

Perhaps, however I need to find it first.

If you could find a way to digest and reformulated the TAKE ACTION/ value first philosophy espoused here, format it into a system that helps you help others understand it,

This is why I keep asking questions, this expands my knowledge and I document it. Then I can ask for input and lessons learned.

If you can use your disadvantage to power hope for the parents who just want to see their kids reach for the stars, you'd have an idea worth $2077/minute.

But there are literally infinite answers to that question.

Sure, yet the ones that you pick are instructive., you have to choose some since time is finite. The question is about what you personally value rather than economics.

Okay.. what would add $2100 (sorry, $2077.50*) worth the value to my life... here goes..

cool

• 2002 bottles of Evian Spring Water

why Evian? Why not another brand? Why not tap water?
• A set of chef-grade professional steak knifes with a lifetime unlimited warranty
Why chef-grade? What is wrong with consumer grade?
• 207.37 steaks to go with my steak knives

Why chef-grade? What is wrong with consumer grade?

• 3.27 years of an unlimited-use carwash service
Why unlimited? What is the advantage of that to you over a pay as you go?
• A new iMac
How is that better than a Dell or Toshiba for you?
• 420.42 Mocha Frappicinos from Starbucks
Why Mocha? How is that better than an Americano or a cappuccino? What about from Costa?
• A pet Serval cat
• 4.27 years worth the food for the pet Serval cat
Not a dog person then
And I'm only .0000000000000001 × 10⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹ % of the way through the list.

Sure and now I have a demographic profile of the Mocha drinking, Apple lover who likes to cook and cut their own steaks.(obviously not a vegetarian)

If enough people here were like you and I was starting a carwash, I could offer unlimited carwash uses (and a free Mocha Frappicinos while you go through) to those who book on my iphone app which features a picture of a serville cat as a background.

There are infinite things that can be worth $2100 ($2077.50 rather).. we have to know what you want to accomplish.

I want to find something with that amount of value that I could potentially provide to people I could reach, then they will be happy to pay me 1/10th that.

I don’t understand that all.

What are you confused about?

I'm telling you Wolfie... If you can get what the big guys here are saying, and integrate it into how you operate, you'll be able to light the world on fire as the ASD etc Tony Robbins.

My wife (she'll kill me if she ever sees this), would spend us into the literal poor house on social skills classes, autism karate, autism horse camp, etc, etc. It got so bad I had to separate our finances because it was robbing my fledgling business of wood buying money!

Learn from the dudes here (not me, I'm nobody). Accept that they are where you want to be, despite the fact that you can't fully wrap your overly analytical head around their philosophy, and become the success story that inspires millions like you, who aren't brave enough to ask perceived annoying questions, to get out there and do something.

As always, mad props for wanting more and not just locking yourself in your room with cartoons and porn. <3

Okay... so you want to make $207.75/week by adding $2077.50 worth the value, and only charging 1/10 for said value.

We're starting in the wrong place.

Figure out what you're good at, what you like doing, what the world needs and what you can get paid for first.

27011

Then start thinking of ways to add two thousand seventy seven dollars and fifty cents worth the value.

Since it seems like you want to help people with Autism, then start talking to them and seeing what their needs, wants and desires are.

That will tell you what they value two thousand seventy seven dollars and fifty cents worth.

Anything that helps my 10 year old find an academic or artistic interest, or increases her chances of leading a long, happy, and productive life.

A non-surgical fix for my mother's knee.

The motivation to pull weeds and pick up stones in the garden, or someone willing to do the same who also knows the difference between a fruit tree and landscape shrubbery.

Sure, there you go. Now imagine that it is how to set up your own income/business for an autisitc .

We're starting in the wrong place.

OK

Figure out what you're good at, what you like doing, what the world needs and what you can get paid for first.

cool value add

I'm unsure what I am good at. Well I like reading, writing , answering questions, posting stuff on forums, fiddling with computers.

The world needs a lot things cheaper renewable energy, carbon capture and mitigation, clean sanitation and water for most of Africa, cheaper electric motors, better health care.

What can I get paid for is the stumbling block.

Already done, and I can tell you right now, it is mainly social skills. I am unable to provide that as I'm bad at it.

I guess I'm either 1 or 2. I'm also fine with finding the profession, I can do the happiness thing on the weekends.

@LittleWolfie, do you have a spare bedroom?

Build a rat utopia. Live stream it 24/7 on Youtube/other streaming services. Cobble up a web service for treat feeders, and let people feed the rats treats whenever they donate a certain amount. Also works with non-rats.
