I was wondering how many Fastlane women are on here and if there are many fellow mums..?

I’m loving the community but it would be nice to connect with people in a similar position to me. Building a business, being female and raising children all have their own specific challenges and it’d be great to hear from you!

Oh hooray! Good to hear from
You, I was beginning to think I was on my own here.

Where about a are you and what are you up to, any fastlane success yet?

Im in the UK near London, currently trying to start a vegan pudding business whilst working part time at the family business selling ingredients to Chinese takeaways.

Be great to hear from any other fastlane women! Come and join :)

Great to hear from you as well!:) I live in the US and I'm currently working on the beginning stages of a B2B concept and hope to report some fastlane success very soon.

That is very neat that you are starting a food business, it's something near and dear to my heart, I love food, ha! In years past, I had lots of fun visiting a friend in New York City and attending the Fancy Food Show, lots of cool new concepts and ideas. Have you ever attended a food expo?

What's the biggest challenge you find running the family business? I am curious to hear because I was on the other side of that transaction as a restaurant owner in the past (not Chinese though) and always found the supply side interesting.

I'm a woman building a business but with fur babies, no human children. I'm new here, so I'm learning a lot and getting the hang of using this forum.

I've been blipping into the Fastlane and then going back down to the slow lane off and on for 21 years. I've been staying on the Fastlane track for the last year and the key difference was FOCUS (follow one course until successful). I've made more mistakes and would love to help anyone else from making them.

My daughter turned 21 on Monday. I'd get an idea and work on it, but then something would come up and I'd put her before everything else. I don't regret that for a second.

She was delayed language and needed interventions over the years for pragmatic language therapy and group social skills. For me the most important thing was flexibility. But I did get in my own way a LOT.

I've made and lost money and now am focusing on content marketing as well as affiliate marketing (I'm writing my own content to show how it can be used, and to practice keyword research, etc.) I have some clients, and am trying to figure out how to better leverage things so it's not my time for money.

Hey! So sorry for the late reply - last week was mental with work and children’s things, I had to figure out how to use a sewing machine to make a Celtic costume

Excited to hear your B2B progress, would yo be happy to share the industry?

The food business is fun and something that is close to my heart but I’m finding it quite intimidating at the moment. I need to keep reminding myself just to take one step at a time because as soon as I look at the big picture, I freeze and start procrastinating. I have attended some food expos, they’re fab, although I do need to make an effort to go to more speciality expos.

I have mixed feelings about family business. On the plus side I was raised in a very entrepreneurial family and business was part of life from the age of 12, I have access to resources that I wouldn’t without it and it’s made my relationship with my dad very strong. However on the minus side it’s impossible to separate personal and business life, working with family can be very difficult. I would love to build a business that my children can grow up helping with so they learn from me that it can be done and develop skills along the way but my ultimate aim would be to sell it so they can follow their own dreams...

What was your experience on the other side of family business?

Hi there! I have a fur baby too and I have to say, she’s the only one that does as she’s asked

Children are excellent motivation but they do not make fast lane easy haha! Welcome and I look forward to hearing your updates x

Hi! So lovely to hear from you. Your FOCUS approach really hit a chord actually. When I get pulled away from work with children’s things and then come back I find I’m filled with doubt - not being able to work continually is hard on the mindset. It makes you doubt your decision and you look for / at new opportunities. That’s where I keep finding myself. I’m pleased your finding your way now, I hope I can follow.

You have my full respect for raising a daughter and dropping everything to support her needs, you’re a wonderful person for doing that, it’s hard and selfless. We’re just looking at having our daughter assessed for ADD and it’s tough trying to build a business and create value for people when you feel you give all your value to those closest to you. How is your daughter doing now?

I’d love to hear more about your journey and I look forward to hearing your progress xx

Not a mom, but am a female. :) You can specify your gender in your profile settings, FYI.

I recently got a notification that there's a "Ladies' Room" section on this forum. Does anyone know more about that?

Hi
I am not a fastlane (yet), but I am a single mom :). After reading TMF and UNSCRIPTED earlier this year, I have been lurking on this forum for approx. 5 months. I have successfully identified needs, and I am still trying to choose which idea to focus on....(MJ, I know you would advice to use CENTS and I did...). Living in the (French) Caribbean, I am trying to find a fastlane lifestyle biz, in order to have more time for my family life...
Thanks for starting this thread, It definitely helps knowing I am not alone facing combining fastlane & family

YES! I'm here - female, in South Australia and building my business. I'm childfree by choice though.
Hey! Good to hear from you. What kind of business are you building? So good to hear from so many women here

I love my kids more that I can put into words however I have to say fastlane would be a lot faster without children

Hi, good to hear from you! Wow, you’re already a hero being a single mum let alone starting fastlane - incredible and what an amazing role model for your child / children.

Are your kids at school yet or are you trying to work with them around? It’s challenging isn’t it! I cringe at some of the calls I’ve had with children screaming in the background

Thanks for joining the thread :) Excited to hear more about your venture and if you ever need a friendly ear give me a shout
