Hello,
My name is Jose A. Nunez and I am 25 years old. I am originally from Texas but moved to California in pursuit of the entrepreneurship dream. I graduated top of my class with a Finance and Economics degree. I wanted to use my professional career as a stepping stone for my real goal which is entrepreneurship. However, soon I realized that having the Plan B mentality was severely hurting my chances of accomplishing Plan A. I decided to quit my professional job and work for a dry cleaners as a route driver. Even though I took a massive pay cut, I feel that I am finally moving faster! My mind is finally liberated and I can now focus more on my entrepreneurship goal. The owner of the dry cleaners became my mentor and I am learning so much from him. In addition, the time that I spend on the road working, I can listen to entrepreneurship and business audio books.
When I listened to both books from MJ DeMarco, it reaffirmed me that I was on the right path and not the asylum path that most people think about.
Finally, I am glad that I am joining this forum. I think surrounding yourself with people that are striving for the same goal, further strengthens the will to walk the path. Together we will make our entrepreneurship flame grow stronger!

Best,

Jose A. Nunez

Welcome!

Great to know that you are making quick progress!

Now to think of it, I should spend more time myself catching up on self-education.
Got to re-oil the engine when needed.
All this busy-work this week can just catch up to me.

Looking forward to hear more from you!

Jose,

Yeah this is a good forum, one of the things we don't realize when we go the salary/middle class road and go for the paycheck in corporate land is that we will begin to build a comfortable(numb) life around that paycheck , so when you wake up from the stupor you have built a life which requires that level of paycheck. Yet to be free you may have to give it up and it's very hard at that point, big painful decisions usually have to be made.

In that manner a paycheck is basically the equivalent of crack cocaine as you feel you can't live without it, especially if you have big debt. Yes you can get free of the addiction but it will be very difficult most of the time. Better to just not get addicted to it in the first place, sounds like you are on the right path.

Silverfox148, I like the crack cocaine analogy. It is very true.
