Hello everyone,

I am 31 years old and living in germany.

After quitting games I was looking for methods to improve myself, to improve my view of the world, to improve my financial situation and to get better at 'life'.

6 months back I started a own small business (IT Security), at the beginning I had some help from a coach about creating my website, make the texts better and about accountancy.

Everything went good, I was bumped to get customers, to call customers and tell them that their servers or wordpress sites are insecure and need a fix, 2 months after I started my business I had 2 cases of death around me, first a very good friend and after the funeral of the said friend my uncle died in a motorcycle accident.
That put me off, it put me off so much that I was living completely isolated and was almost getting depression and that I left my own business behind and did nothing with it.
Currently I am getting welfare and got a "deadline" until September to get my own business going until I get job offers from the job center.

Couple of days ago I found this Forum and was reading this whole thread, because I was about to learn some additional programming languages, after that I bought 4 books:

- The Millionaire Fastlane (As a eBook via Kobo, like to read on a big phone)
- Rich Dad Poor Dad (Just finished this one)
- Think and Grow Rich
- The Richest Man in Babylon

And stopped thinking about learning a new programming language.

I finished "Rich Dad Poor Dad" first and boy oh boy...It was so eye opening, so I decided to register here and start a introduction.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the intro.

So sorry to hear you’ve been touched by death. It’s not something you “get over”, but something that has changed you forever and something you learn to live with.

It’s not easy, and it takes time, so expect down days, and don’t beat yourself up.

One of my brother’s lines I found in his journal was quite appropriate: “It doesn’t get easier, you get stronger.”

If you loved RDPD then wait till you’ve read The Millionare Fastlane, and Unscripted .

Also check out the Gold threads in here.

Don’t stay isolated. There’s a forum of people here rooting for you.

Thanks for the welcome and kind words, appreciate it much!

Will start reading "The Millionare Fastlane" in a couple hours. RDPD was already so eye opening, can't wait to get my head into The Millionare Fastlane and also Unscripted .

I am basically checking every thread in here when I am doing a 'reading break', can't stop reading since a few days, but thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, had some tough months, but I am slowly getting back on the track, especially after I found this forum here. Not sure how to handle my business now but I will open a specific thread for this to not clutter my introduction :)

TMF is great on Audible btw. Nothing like having MJ in your ear as he’s bending it.

So sorry to hear about your friend and your uncle. Always reminds us that life gives us no guarantees but to leave as naked as we came in.

Thank you for sharing your story.
