As it happens I'm sort of tight on money right now, I was planning on getting into Amazon FBA but it's not really something you can start for free.

Here is my first website ever: Ayanle's Blog – Writing about life

I'm proud of it even if it's not fancy, I'll update as I go along because doing more would be action faking when I don't even have visitors.

My plan right now is to post something every day to add value in someway even if it's small and see where it goes.

I also want to do what I can to acquire my first few readers. I'm using it as a blog but it can be anything the audience wants, I won't place any limits.

Tell me what I can do/improve to get closer to my goals, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Thanks man.

It does? Where do you live?
I want to see how long it takes.

I'm going to have it load faster.

Yeah, it is loading well, don't worry. And btw. congrats on your first website! I remember how happy I was when I finally managed to deploy my own first website. It was terrible, but it was a step forward and that matters the most. Keep moving, keep going and good luck!

Do you guys know of any good ways to keep track of visitors? I see you can install wp plugins or use google analytics but are those the most effective ways?

Have you thought about creating websites for other people?

I have a personal website, but if I waited on that to make me money, I’d be poor all my life.

I’m not saying don’t do it, just don’t expect income right away.

If money is tight, you should focus on creating for other people.

Just my 2 cents.

I thought personal branding might be a good idea.

I don't know what I can create for other people tbh, at any rate I need something I can start for free and has the potential to make money.

I'm open to any suggestions.

Good work on putting something out there.

You can use google analytics to track visitors.

How are you going to drive traffic to your site?

Lastly, the site needs color. Pick a color for your theme and you’re good to go. Currently, it’s too plain.

Thanks.

Google analytics it is.

Honestly I have no idea, I was thinking of perhaps doing SEO to get traffic. Feel free to suggest something else if you know a better way to do it.

Ok, I'm on it.

Build content first. Then focus on SEO.

Before anything, pick a niche. Build content around your niche.

Spend an hour brainstorming what’s the purpose of your site.

Examples:
  • Review products
  • Blog about life
  • Discuss current events
  • Etc

You made your first website. That's awesome for three reasons:

1) You care about saving money and making money (people focus too much on one thing or the other)
2) Sure your blog is going to be used to make money (that is in no way a bad thing!!), BUT right now you're more concerned about offering value to others
3) You accomplished making your first website - that's huge

Don't worry too much about how things look, colour schemes etc. Some of the best sites out there look terrible.

Focus on quality content, build an audience and build a brand.

Analytics will help to guide you so that you know what to scale, what to rework and what to eliminate.

Best of luck!

It's an easy decision, I'll blog about life, guess that is my niche.

I've installed google analytics on wordpress through monsterinsights(still gotta learn how to use it though).

I'm currently trying to upload a template I can use but they only load on zip file which can't be opened on my computer so I can't change the color atm.

Thanks Chris, I'm going to be using analytics and post quality content before doing SEO to drive traffic.

If there is one thing I've learned here it's that making money and offering value go hand in hand.
