I would target Beach Body coaches/clients with this to mix with Shakeology (160M market).

With that said, I'm not sure how you made your website/branding look this bad in 2017. Hire a designer, stat.

Thanks for your time and suggestions. We're excited to have others help us with ideas and expansion! When we are blessed with the means to do some upgrades we'll most certainly put them into effect. Have a great day Milkanic :) -JD

You're making a rookie mistake (been there many times) and trying to market to broad an audience. I don't believe people are going to purchase this THEN purchase protein powder just to try it. Unless it becomes a huge hit, which it can't be unless you have a laser focus on a specific target audience that's more likely to purchase it initially.

I'd focus more on marketing it to those who already drink protein shakes as a regular part of their diet. Market it as a 'healthy alternative' to desserts -- as people who drink protein shakes are likely health conscious so it would be a powerful attraction for them. Put your ad-spend toward health conscious individuals who workout as they are more likely to have protein whey laying around.

Really appreciate your wisdom on this! Will work on narrowing the market and making the changes :) Have a blessed day Stevie! -JD

They usually aren't, or they're just feeding off old orders.

This module is pretty commonly used by eCommercers as a social proof tweak.

Still think the marketing/branding on this could be simplified into a "Desert Replacement" or a "Protein Desert".

Good luck, hope some Fastlaners get to try the free samples.

Agree with this marketing advice and angle. Coming from someone who trains, I don't see this ever being a protein shake replacement for men or women. Especially women, as many who are serious fitness fanatics and count every calorie isn't going to waste 18g of carbs/50 calories on freeze linda ice cream on the daily. I see women having this ice cream as a cheat snack once in a blue moon. I'm not even sure why there are so many responses on this thread (mine included) since March when so much solid advice previously given is being ignored. Best of luck though, hope it works out.

Figure out how Dippin' Dots does it. Do that. Market it as a healthy alternative.

Some personal feedback visual-wise:

1) If the target audience is young modern females aged 18 - 34, the light blue color scheme for the brand looks off.
18 - 34 females = the most active group on IG. For deserts and sweet stuff and all that OMG girly ice-cream "feels", check out this website posted previously by a member here, @businessbaybee : PASTEL QUEEN | World's Cutest Brand!
That sort of sweet, girly scheme would suit your product and audience more: pink, cyan, purple, light blue.
Also, google "unicorn trend", then switch to the Images view. You'll see what I mean.

2) The packaging for the product looks crappy IMO. Not sure if you designed that yourself, but it needs to be redesigned if you're serious about branding.

3) Is that you in the Youtube video? That polo t-shirt is WAY OFF. You're not gonna give your young female audience a good impression by wearing a t-shirt 2 times your appropriate size! The sleeves are too droopy, and......the neckhole is so big that it looks dorky on you! Hard to take this seriously IMO. Imagine a 65-year old bulging belly dad going to college to sell trendy yoga leggings to college girls.
Don't be offended, just want you to look suave and good in videos.
Also, that black color Freezinda t-shirt doesn't gel with your brand at all.
The video feels more like a tech-support guy selling things lol

4) I feel this product has a lot of potential if you change the angle and marketing a bit. Others would be better fitted to advise you on this, but I can see lots of potential with this on social media, especially IG (check out IG @icecream).
You can create all kinds of beautiful ice-cream art with your product, and post it there. Dessert porn looks gorgeous on IG and attracts lots of young females. Let them see what can be done, and what is possible with your product.

Check out a YouTube review right here:
View: https://youtu.be/0b6cdp4qhv4?t=2m21s

Oof, that’s brutal.

I also did not realize this would add 18g Carb to any protein. That’s kind of a BIG deal to anyone using protein. My protein (Pro Jym) is only 4g carb/serving. So quadrupling the carbs for ice cream... ouch.

Honestly, it’s easier to get diabetic ice cream like D’Lites if that’s the case...

But I was Googling, trying to find 3rd party content thats been made about my company's product
I found some review site, where someone did me the great favor of writing a product review
I did some browsing of the site and stumbled upon this LOL:

Man, you seriously need to rebrand. Hire a Designer, redo your logo, change your company name, change your website. Since when is pink and blue a good gradient? C'mon man.

Based on the review posted here, the product also needs tweaking. If you REALLY want to make this work (and it seems like you do, since you're doing the PR and all that), you need to change it up and rebrand. Your current brand isn't appealing.

Man, you seriously need to rebrand.

I think the review by the blogger indicates that it needs a new name too. She didn't know what to call it.

That said, if the product isn't "tell your friends" worthy, it doesn't make sense to continue forward unless that "forward" is a product re-tweak to ensure most people like it, while some rave about it.

It's productocracy or nothing.

The problem I see with this is that you have very little control over the taste of the final product. Anyone can use any old protein powder and the Freezinda ice cream might taste like dirt --> they will immediately blame the Freezinda.

The final product MUST taste good and have a better consistency (the stuff in the video looks unappetizing to me). You might be able to have decent control over the texture, but how can you control the taste when there are thousands of different protein powders?

Your branding and packaging is a whole separate issue that must be addressed aside from your actual product.

FREEZINda? That's gotta be the worst name ever. Also yes, the packaging is horrid - looks like a very cheap unknown international product.

Should be called Frotein not god damn Freezinda

I can't help but wonder if the execution here was the bottleneck or the product itself. Looks like a mix of both, though I'm leaning more on execution.

Someone linked a similar product earlier in this thread... And their website—I haven't seen anything else—is everything this guy's website (and brand) should have been.

That was 6 years ago and it looks like they're still up.

Hey guys,

I know self promotion is not highly regarded around here. But, I need feedback on my concept and new company. I came up with a way to turn any protein powder into an ice cream like dessert. The concept is similar to making Jell-O, but you would place in the freezer instead of the refrigerator. I don't have the final product yet, I'm simply just asking for feedback on the website & concept. Thanks for your time :)

Hey there - if you aren't already familiar with the Ninja Creami - I recommend taking a look. Or go on Instagram and look up #ninjacreamirecipes. There is a machine out there that you can make protein ice cream. I know because I have one. I am very particular about my macros and making sure I hit my protein and this is a way that I can have "sweets" and still have high protein snacks. It sounds like a semi simliar concept except maybe without the device? But I would still recommend looking into it if you haven't already because all the IG influencers in fitness are promoting and using the Ninja Creami as a high protein ice cream option.

So it looks like his idea had great merit, but ultimately, poor execution.

Great case study about it's not having the right idea, but the right execution.
