Well, after months of development my app is done and available in the app store. I started the project on elance on July 20th, so after about 3 months, around 175 email messages back and forth, a lot of money, and a week for approval, its ready for sale. Seems like I've come so far but in reality, I'm at the bottom of a mountain ready to start. Making the app has made me $0, now I have to market it like crazy. So I enjoyed the glamor of it being done for a short time because now I am focusing on marketing it.
I've already started to email people I was previously in contact with on Faceboook. Hopefully they will still help by posting in on their page. I think I have about 30 or so that are willing to help, a ton that didn't reply and I will message again, and many more I haven't emailed at all yet. In total, there are probably 300-400 emails I have to send. Tens of millions of fans, followers, subscribers, and readers between all the sources. I have to distribute my press release too. Tonight is going to be a long night, and I still have a book to read and test to study for for tomorrow, I doubt I'll get to those though.
I also have to start piecing together any review suggestions I get and work on an update. There are a couple small things I noticed I might change, need to see what others say and see if they agree. I'm kind of glad I had a relaxing weekend this past weekend because it's going to be a lot of work before I can sit back and relax for a while. I'm still trying to figure out some different marketing ideas that might create viral content. I actually had a great idea to include vendor cross marketing so hopefully they are interested in that. So lots to do in the marketing department.
If you asked me a year ago if I thought I would be doing this today, I couldn't imagine actually being here now and doing it. This is the largest project I have ever attempted, the most money I've ever put on the line, a whole new experience. I'm very confident that I can make it work and be successful with it, not a doubt in my mind.
Honestly, my head is spinning right now from trying to get everything done so sorry if some of this is confusing or doesn't make sense. Well, I need to get back to work, I will update this as I see progress and anything new.
I wish I could give out some promo codes but I've already told companies and whatnot I would get them some, so if there are some left or in the next batch I can get people some. The app is $0.99. If you guys do download it, it would be awesome if you had some pictures of cars you've spotted you could upload. You can turn off the locator in the settings under the profile. And reviews are great too!
