I'm not sure if anyone is interested in this but I thought I'd take the vision board idea and twist it a little. This thread is so that each of us can post a goal that we want to achieve and/or an image that represents it. You can add one goal a day or add as many as you want at once.

I'll get it started:

Dodge Viper RT/10 - one of my many GOAL cars

Nice Viper. I like the older models more than the latest ones. The new ones just don't have as much style.

Lake toys. Lots and lots of lake toys. ...I wouldn't mind the body either! The thought of spending time on a lake really excites me.

Some may think that Disney World is just for kids but it is an amazing place. You can truly forget about everything and just dream. I haven't been there in ten years but if I can become successful I want to go some time in 2008.

... but if I can become successful I want to go some time in 2008.

AndrewG, let me help... start by changing that phrase to:

When I become successful I want to go some time in 2008

or even better...

When I get $50,000 in profits I will go. Probably by August 2008.

It is very important to pay attention at how we talk and how we express our ideas. This plays a great part in reaching your goals.

You're very right! I should know better. I try to always talk in a positive and optimistic manner. Let me try again:

When I make $20,000 in profits from my endeavors I will visit Disney World in 2008.

Jet skiing is so much friggin' fun! I never quite grasped the appeal until I got on one! ...The best is to try and throw someone off- speed up, then crank the wheel one way then fast the other way and you hydroplane. The person on back goes skipping across the water like a stone. It like a water rodeo. So much fun- I laugh until I cry half the time. Ah, the little things in life. :)

It is a lot of fun... unless the joke is on you and you are the one flying off the jet ski...
My jet ski is an old one... maybe is time to get rid of it and get a newer one... but for now that is just a distraction... need to keep working on growing the number of units I have.

i want to go back to florida. my favorite place to have fun and eat.
I hear ya. I have a weakness for clam chowder, and everytime I'm near any coast I go on a clam chowder marathon eating spree. My husband often comments that it's not humanly possible to eat clam chowder day-in and day-out, but I just take that as a challenge! lol

Also a simple dream and goal that's even better than the rest:

Being able to sit back and relax with a tall glass of lemonade and a book. Without the any worries of paying bills and maybe pool side with a waterfall:

Andrew, a short term goal like this is very attainable with just some planning. I know that you are thinking about the trip as a reward to making $20k.

But what if going to Disney World were the goal itself? How much does a trip to Disney world cost? I'm not sure where you live or how many people you are bringing, but would $4k do it?

Can you make $4k before the end of 2008? I'm sure you could. You've got 12 months so you'll need to make $333/mo or only $11/day! Now doesn't that seem easier?

Get ready for your trip to Disney for Christmas of 2008!

Come talk to me if you wanna chat about saltwater fish tanks! I can tell you everything you wanna know about them. I can name all the corals in that picture and even tell you what part of the world the rocks came from. Yes, I'm a nerd.

Get ready for your trip to Disney for Christmas of 2008!

I'd say around $10,000 for a nice trip with about 10 people to Disney. But I still think it's very possible. Even if we arrive there at 11:59 pm on December 31, 2008, I'll be happy

In the thousands. I just found a 65 gallon aquarium with stand for about a thousand dollars. And that's not even for the fish and coral which could cost more. 65 gallons isn't much, I was thinking of more like 1,000 gallons.

In the thousands. I just found a 65 gallon aquarium with stand for about a thousand dollars. And that's not even for the fish and coral which could cost more. 65 gallons isn't much, I was thinking of more like 1,000 gallons.

The largest tank I've had was a 125 gallon aquarium. I've had a pool tank using a 6' kiddie pool and I've run a business selling fish and corals out of my parents basement a while ago.

The first thing you need to decide is if you're going to do saltwater fish only or reeftank. A reeftank will run you alot more money than fish only.

It's been a while but here's a general cost list for a 125 gallon salt water reef tank.

Glass tank & stand = $500
Lighting = $800
Protien skimmer = $500
Pump = $200
Plumbing misc = $200
Other misc = $200
Chiller = $500 (optional)

Live sand = $300
Live rock = $500
RO/DI = $300

That's without buying any corals or fish. Figure another $1000 for those. Just to give you an example, in the photo you posted. The main coral is a soft coral that probably will cost about $40. The rock looks like its from Fiji which I believe you can get for $3.00/lb + shipping overnighted directly from Fiji. You'll need at least 65 lbs.

Now upkeep is costly. My tank was costing me about $50/mo in electric and at least $100/mo in salt, chemicals, etc... Not to mention the rituals of glass cleaning, water changing, supplements, etc...

You could go lowtech and keep it simple, but it takes tons of discipline to not overfeed, not overpopulate your tank. One other thing to mention is that a reeftank is a slow evolving ecosystem. You will not have a nice looking tank for at least 6 months. It is a very very slow process. Going fish only is a much easy saltwater tank, but not as fun to watch!

FYI, for a 1000 gallon tank you are talking about a dedicated filter room, new power runs and a huge electric bill!

I will be a millionaire by age 30.

I will be a billionaire by age 40.

*I'm 25 right now.

All of my toys I will acquire one at a time as rewards to myself for achieving investment milestones.

Example:

1. Subscribing to Robb Report as my reward for making my passive income equal to or greater than my current active income from my job

2. Purchasing an item in Robb Report when I exit the rat race

3. Shopping from Robb Report after becoming a millionaire, or taking a one month vacation with my fiancee who will then be my wife

*Sorry for getting carried away. You said "A" goal a day. Millionaire by 30 for today.
