Well this is interesting. A bunch of guys doing a project in USA (short term) that I work with were turned away at the border over the weekend (airport). This is work and travel we do all the time, and it has never been an issue before.

I guess they were told they need a specific work visa now, and the same goes for traveling from Canada to USA for meetings and conferences, which we do all the time.

I'll drop something positive and something business related:

Recently I've been getting a lot of calls just from my gmb page and website. I have done 0 purposeful seo and spend nothing on ads but I suppose having 8 5 Star reviews (half of them from actual customers) helps a lot.

Onto the diet thing I asked earlier: After the advice I got I changed 2 things. It was great to hear from several different perspectives and that allowed me to find the common ground between all of them, which I feel is the closest way you can get to finding a true "right" answer. Some were kinda hard to read and I never got so many negative reactions on a message but I know yall dont mean it like that so dw.

1. I started supplementing b12 and Flolic acid, since a blood test revealed I was deficient in those.
2. Working hard to avoid processed stuff as much as possible. Honestly the only processed things I eat now are a vegan pea things to put on bread, high quality german bread, some cheese and cream cheese and spice mixtures, though those hardly count as processed (ofc sugar free).

I was sleep deprived and sick today but I still managed to do a pretty big job and go to the gym, which is much better.
So thanks for all the advice.

All I could think about was he was talking about Action faking and mental masturbation, as we know well here on the Fastlane not to do. Pretty cool! Also glad this was the first church we walked into, after moving states.. I think it's a good sign!
ps. He mentioned that you should obviously read the Bible, just like obviously business books have value.. but there's a line between that and reading 3 biz. books a week, thinking you're "Working".. Just like thinking you're "Helping" Spreading the gospel with your nose in the big book.

Glad you've found a good faith circle that aligns with Fastlane values.

Looking at the recent discussion here...I felt pretty bewildered at how emotional things went. But I also understood MJ's exasperation because I experienced exactly that in church with youths and young adults. Folks who were supposed to be 'my family', who supposedly shared the same life values and disciplines...but just didn't act like it.

E.g. how the F*ck can you claim to 'save people' when you keep claiming 'worship' is more important than mental models to live life better and treat people better?

The leader who threw this statement at me didn't remember the Boss himself healed and took grain on a Sabbath.

These experiences were so bad until I find it harder to enter a church...make friends with young Christians who give off 'church-speak'...and I keep complaining about it every time I meet the few remaining souls for that segment of my personal circle.

In fact, the only reason I continue with church at all-- is to keep in touch with an uncle who's been very good to me. Once he's off migrating to NZ, I don't know how long I'd keep on. And I'm not forgetting the many souls I've met along the way who tried to keep me going.

So I'm with MJ for now.

Build a business that succeeds so wildly, it gives me tons of freedom and optionality.

Even better-- meet the right people and resources along the way. Who will never throw such aimless statements at you-- ever.

Write books on breaking this cycle of toxic spirituality.

Give more time and money to missions who face so many hardships that they don't have room for toxicity.
One missions I'm working part-time at invited me for a trip to the natives around end of the month...so I'm clocking time for that.
They have monthly trips-- and often send in specialised medical and education tutors.

No idea exactly what I can help with on that trip. If it's just carting supplies around...I'm OK with that.

That being said, worshipping together with a great group of people is a very powerful experience. There’s plenty of church’s out there, might be wise to check out some different ones… I was raised Catholic and didn’t practice for 15 years. A inter-denominational (Protestant) church re-ignited the flame and our family has attended ever since. Remember it’s about relationships not religion. Good bless!

My back actually feels awesome once the fatigue is gone. I have better posture and no pain. I occasionally did get some minor back pain before I started doing this.

I’m just going to keep slowly raising it as my ability allows. There are ways to get to 200 pounds like an absolute animal if you want to put dumbbells in hands.

One problem I’ve had is I’ve already ruined a pair of Brooks Ghost 16 that are only a few months old. So I’ll have to find a shoe with a tougher sole.

It’s not screwing around for cardio either.

My record was carrying my 95 lb girlfriend half a mile along the riverwalk in Tampa (she was fine - I just wanted to see how far I could carry her before my arms gave out).

And life IS the long run. You need to be able to train for many decades to come.

Good luck Kyle!

I'm still shocked I messed my body up that I can't even golf at 52. It's a fate worse than death. Id give up my whole portfolio which has me set for life if I could be physically whole again. But Ill still being able to throw on a daypack and hike 5 to 8 miles once healed from my upcoming surgery. Wish me luck Fastlaners, going under the knife early next week for ankle reconstruction and a 6 month recovery. Nothing will be fast but I'm up for the challenge as I just want to walk normal again.
