I was at chatai.com I think

That's not ChatGPT. Actually, that probably is a wrapper for ChatGPT, someone who is paying for its API and making it a business.

Thanks to ChatGPT, I've developed a fierce distaste for YouTube tutorials / "how to" videos.

Why?

Instead of watching someone talk for 10 minutes and MAYBE getting my question answered/problem solved, I can get the same information summed up in like 5 easy to read paragraphs.

Then, if I have questions about my specific problem, I can simply ask ChatGPT to elaborate or provide me with an example. Maybe even some code that actually works to solve my exact problem.

With ChatGPT, I'm solving more complex problems in way less time. The only limit is my creativity and my ability to write good prompts. (I've found that iterating on the same prompt and treating GPT like a real human both help loads.)

The new User Power metric here at the forum is compliments of ChatGPT. If anyone says this TECH isn't a gamechanger, they're living under a rock.

A 100%+ power rating means that user has more LIKES than posts, and usually is an awesome indicator of the value that a user is contributing. FYI, is viewable on larger screens, mobile users it will not appear.

At the rate that it's going, it could replace me and what I do for a living currently. I do love Tech. Grew up with ever since 9th grade and middle school. Took classes all related to tech.

how am i supposed to get my user power up if i am moderated?

do you even understand the concept of providing value with a post?

i want to make it simple for you
- help someone with anything
- give someone advice on your experience
- write your own thread with success & failures (this helps others too)

if you don’t have anything to contribute then its better to be quite first.

see how i add value to you by giving you some ideas on how to make better posts?

now do it yourself.

Used ChatGPT today for the first time... WOW
I should have looked into ChatGPT way earlier but I didn't wanted to be distracted by my goals and get down a new rabbit hole like Crypto and NTFs. Well, that was a mistake on my part.

I can see how ChatGPT will likely support me in building my next business 5-10x faster.

As I plan to launch a newsletter alongside my Ecomm site, I just spent two hours with ChatGPT.

The amount of time I saved is incredible.

What it helped me to achieve so far, in these two hours:

- Branding:
• Finding a name for my newsletter. I wanted something catchy and provocative. The AI gave me several dozen of suggestions, some of them were puns. I like one of those and I added my touch to it. Brainstorming on the name of a project is often a barrier to me.
• It was not complicated to get a related subtitle then.
• I got then a couple of suggestions about the colors I should choose to match the feelings and the atmosphere I want to bring with this newsletter.
• Same for the logo, with suggestions about icons and fonts I should use. Took me 5 mins to create it with Canva afterwards.
- Marketing:
• I needed to know how often I should publish. Once a month? Twice? More? ChatGPT gave me data analytics to quickly take a decision.
• Same for the size of my publications. I have now some guidelines about the perfect text length to generate interest without losing my readers.
• About the content of the newsletter itself, I already had an idea since the beginning. But the AI gave a couple of additionnal suggestions of content types I could include.
• How to make it grow then? Got some advices about which social media I sould focus one, how to hook people from there, paid ads, etc.
- Monetizing:
• I want this first newsletter to be free. It will generate leads and interest to my current website but I wanted to go further. So I discussed about a premium newsletter alongside the free one. I got data analytics about pricing, content differences between both newsletters (frequency, length...) and how to convert people from the free newsletter.
• Get also some additionnal strategies such as E-books to summarize all the content of my newsletter, collaborations with other brands, etc. I already had some of these ideas, but the AI helped by give insights about the process.
• Finally I wanted to know which newsletter platform would be the best choice according to the nature of this project. I got a comparison between the major existing newsletter sites (Substack, Ghost, BeeHiiv...) in terms of features, pricing plans, integrated tools, etc.
I could have searched/brainstormed for all these answers by myself for sure. ChatGPT just made me save a lot of time by guiding my reflexion in only two hours.

PS: of course I don't plan the content of my newsletter to be AI-generated. But I'm thinking about how it can help me to produce content.

So it has been a long time since I have done more than basic stuff with excel, and it turns out I barely even remember how to make a chart using it.

I started to google the questions I am running in to, but then decided to try out chat GPT instead. WOW!!!! So far every single issue I am running in to I just ask GPT and it solves it for me in a simple point-by-point instruction, with 0 fluff or 500 word intro describing why people would want to use excel.

I have caught myself several times the last couple days using Google and realizing that it is much less efficient than using ChatGPT.

After using GPT day and night I bought it a month ago. And wow does it feel like I have a whole team of specialists behind me!! Both for building my business and at my work. Productivity? Through the roof! No need to hire "specialists" for things that are junior-> medium-level!! Feedback from my manager: "Panos you write like a c-level executive!". Also, GPT 4 is a good jump from GPT 3.5. No more repeating the same stuff. And the reasoning? Amazing. So guys get educated on AI and be on the right side of history. I am telling people in Finance that their jobs will be obsolete in 5 years but they think I am crazy. Based on what I see: Accountants? DONE. Financial ANALysts? DONE. Junior Project Managers and POs are done. Junior Devs? DONE. Just take a look at this video of what Copilot from Microsoft can do after not even a year of development.

. This is amazing news for all of us starting a business we can now really stick it to the big guys and compete so much better. Until the big corpos have done 6789 meetings to decide on one thing, a small business or even a sole proprietorship can develop a product and market it effectively and stick it up their a$$, with the power of AI. Educate yourselves NOW!!

IDK ChatGPT lowers the bar of entry for a lot of entrepreneurial endeavors imo. And I don't think that it will just be jobs that will get lost. There will also be a lot of businesses that will go down. Who will hire consultants and experts if they know about ChatGPT? Who will hire an Online Marketing Agency when AI can do everything for you? Also, who will buy your products if most people don't have jobs anymore? A lot of uncertainties atm. The only certainty is that massive change is coming.

We will see where it will be heading. The best thing you can do is make full use of it now.

Consultants and experts I say good riddance. One possible scenario is that we have more small businesses instead of mindless scripted employee robots. I do not see that as a bad thing.

I thought this was a pretty good post trying to determine where most of the value will be generated via generative AI.

My search volumes at search engines is probably down by 66%. I imagine google’s internal numbers probably show a meaningful decline, like 7 or 8%.

If you think about it isn’t ChatGPT what search is supposed to be compared to a Google algorithm.

If you give a set of instructions to a human as an analogy. You expect that the words and their syntax are taken into account.

I asked ChatGPT to calculate the equivalent taxable yield on a municipal bond that pays 3% from someone in a 45% tax bracket.

1679412529730.png

It failed miserably, even after 6 attempts and clarifications that the bonds are tax free. This was its last ditch effort. This calculation isn't calculus.

Anything related to math I'm not going to trust GPT yet. Although the standardized test scores for GPT4 are beginning to look great.

However for idea generation related to writing content, this thing rocks. I can create a ton of different ideas and just refine them for a written product.

There's no way I would rip content straight from ChatGPT into a blog post I'm trying to rank on Google, but that doesn't mean you can't use it as a framework and make the writing significantly better.

Google just announced their own AI Chatbot, called Bard.

I signed up for the waitlist from an email they sent out to Google One users.

Looks like the battle of the AI chatbots will define the evolution of technology moving forward.

I think they're the most impactful innovation since the smartphone.

Right now I'm writing a book teaching people how to use ChatGPT to accomplish certain goals. I'm still not willing to let AI write a single word of the book, though. Over-reliance on AI will cause the skills of many knowledge workers to atrophy and make themselves obsolete.

@SeeYouAtTheTop
Your last paragraph is spot on. Anything written by AI is taking a hit in SEO rankings. They have the ability to detect AI writing. Freelancing agencies I work for have zero tolerance for using GPT to generate content for clients.

I found a prompt that literally upgraded the quality of answers I get from GPT 4 a 100 times better.

Introducing the prompt engineer. This badass prompt when executed, will generate a prompt in response to your prompt and ask you relevant questions regarding that prompt.

I've been selfish with it for long enough so here you go folks. Prepare to be amazed!

"I want you to become my prompt engineer. Your goal is to help me craft the best possible prompt for my needs. The prompt will be used by you, ChatGPT. You will follow the following process:

1. Your first response will be to ask me what the prompt should be about. I will provide my answer, but we will need to improve it through continual iterations by going through the next steps.

2. Based on my input, you will generate 2 sections. a) Revised prompt (provide your rewritten prompt. it should be clear, concise, and easily understood by you), b) Questions (ask any relevant questions pertaining to what additional information is needed from me to improve the prompt).

3. We will continue this iterative process with me providing additional information to you and you updating the prompt in the Revised prompt section until I say we are done."

I just came here to post about Bard. If anyone questioned what impact ChatAI was having on Google, here's your answer.
South Korea's Kakao Corp also released one called ddmm. It seems like after ChatGPT was first released, now everyone suddenly started releasing AI chat bots. It's like they've been working on them secretly for a long time and then because one company released theirs, now all the other companies need to release theirs.

However, ddmm hasn't been doing well and a lot of issues that ChatGPT (overuse/overload), ddmm is also facing (but on an even smaller scale, around 13,000 people).

An issue with ChatGPT is that it's not too great with other languages other than English. And Korea's AI isn't that great with English. So it's interesting to see the localization effect. Where AIs in America might be more better in western, English data. And other countries like Korea, Korea's AI will continue to train their data on data using the Korean language so that naturally, Korea's AI will be better in Korean than say ChatGPT.

I think it's interesting to see how many people in South Korea use ChatGPT though! I didn't think adoption would pick up so quickly outside of America.

Edit:
Right after posting this, I went to Gmail and got this:

1. For how long will they be able to detect AI writing? ChatGPT isn't even 1 year old.

2. I think this depends also on the quality of the prompt that you use. You can give ChatGPT an article that you have written yourself and ask it to write in the same style for example.

check out originality.ai.

Basically, the way GPT puts the next words into place forms a distinct pattern. That's why responses from chatGPT (in terms of written content) are very general-ish.

There's also the issue of watermarks within the text. Fairly certain Google is aware of this because of the response they've made to AI content.
