I came here to suggest a chat room as well. There are some questions that I just want to get some opinions on, but I think if I made a thread about it I would get flamed for it not being 100% thought out.

Think it through first then and then post what ever you get stuck on. Legitimate, well researched questions rarely get flamed.

Rule of thumb... if you can google it, don't ask someone to google it for you. People here are generally helpful, especially when it's evident that you value their time.

On another forum (experienced-people.co.uk) I visited recently, they have a top threads of the week archive.

I'm not sure how they pick the top items exactly, but it looks like it is hand curated. If that would take too long given the volume here, maybe just a list of the most active or liked threads for that week could be a starting point.

This is kind of like the weekly summaries you get for some blogs (e.g. Lifehacker's high 5).

I noticed that we can no longer edit the anchor text for a link, or am I missing something?

Sometimes the text that the forum pulls automatically is misleading for the link, and so I would go and make it clearer, but seems like that ability has gone, would be nice to get it back if possible.

I just type out my own words, then highlight them, then click the 'link' icon in the editor to add the actual link.

Edit and delete abilities have been removed after a post is live for X number of days.

You can edit within that time frame, I think it is 10 days, maybe 5. If you want, post the link you want edited and I can do it.

This edit/delete change occurred because too many people were posting threads, getting responses, and then later deleting them, hence wasting our time. We lost some great threads due to people who use the forum to their whims, and once they got what they needed, they deleted everything.

I got it now, it was just in WYSIWYG mode and I couldn't figure out how to get back to the view that allows editing of source code.

Geez, I used to be a developer, and now I'm posting questions like a Grandma

Upcoming Events section. B&P and the new B&C events have its own section. Could lead to other events.

Cohesive to that would be a Regional section. Those locally to one another could connect much easier and create unofficial meet-ups. Not limited to, provide even more opportunity to network on a worldwide basis as well. Discuss events, problems in X or Y country, etc.

I already have done that several times.

If I am traveling I will post up and ask fastlaners if they want to meetup. It's a cool way to put a face to a screen name.

Watched threads folders.

It would be great if there were a way to organise all of our watched threads into their own categories. Such as creating our very own folders.

Right now I have 4 pages of watched threads, and many of the threads have important information which cannot be identified by the title of the thread. If I want to find something that I have seen before if is difficult because I need to open up many threads before I find it.

I've noticed an error in the forum subscriber list popup (as you can see in the image below) there's a &nbsp (non-breaking space) that souldn't appear.

Hmm.. Yesterday I could use this forum and today I couldn't connect. I cleared cache and cookies. I flushed DNS. Nothing changed.
Now I have to use proxy (hidemyass and filterbypass.me). I am in Europe, Poland.
www.mjdemarco.com is also not working from here.
Have anybody from these regions similar problems with connect?

We have been getting multiple reports of ISP issues, mainly on Comcast, Cogent, and Level3. This is causing some customers to experience sporadic packet loss to/from their servers here at Liquidweb. Our Networking Team is investigating the root cause and are trying to work with the provider issues but at this time, we can confirm this is definitely not an issue with the Liquid Web network. The traffic issues appear to be with TCP and not UDP, so typically traceroutes, pings, DNS will be working, but web and email traffic will not.

I just got on, on my laptop, on my comcast wifi haven't tried since earlier so idk when it fixed itself. but it seems to be ok now

These pop ups are really annoying. When I just come to read, it says "Subscribe now" OR "register" something like that.

There's an interesting feature on Stackoverflow when asking a question. As you type, a suggestion box appears with questions similar to yours. It suggests the tags too. More often than not, I find that my question has been answered before I even post it.

Since here some kinds of topics keep coming up (mentorship, college, affiliates...) - maybe it could be useful to have such a feature.

Just a thought.
