Hello, my name is Justin. I read (most) of the Millionaire Fastlane about 3-4 years ago. Really liked it but was in a tough spot in life.
I was in my late 20's recently quit my job and was day trading full time. Young dumb and going broke fast. For context of the pressure, my wife and I had 3 airbnb's, a long-term rental and a couple cars listed on Turo. I lost over 50% of my trading capital the first day I was a full-time trader. Add to all of this that I walked out of my job after making over 7k in a few minutes one day, quit my job a day or two later (burned the bridge with a large fortune 500 company) and then lost 50% of my capital to trade with, all in one week. I also had a child about 1 year old during all of this.
Fast forward to now, I am 33, a tiny bit wiser and slowly rebuilding our financial situation. Real estate has always been a passion of mine as well as stocks. I know that trading is not necessarily a fastlane opportunity BUT it is not something I will ever stop doing. Today I am doing quite well in the markets, although I do not day trade anymore, and my wife and I are under contract for our second flip (first since our financial recovery). I had envisioned working for myself by around 45 or younger via real estate and whatever other ventures we get into but after reading Unscripted (almost done) I am seeing and planning on doing this by or before I am 38.
My wife and I are both in our early 30's have another baby girl on the way and our financial situation is stronger now than it ever has been. I have always been a very forward thinking individual though not always patient. I am always looking for ways to escape the rat race (Thanks Kiyosaki) and have never been satisfied just collecting a paycheck even in adolescence. I drank the Dave Ramsey Kool-aid for awhile and yes it definitely helped, especially when my wife and I were considering bankruptcy in our late 20s, but now the bird is ready to leave the nest so to speak.
I look forward to making some relationships in here, maybe even working on some projects with others in here and growing with each and every one of you.
