You Are Becoming Useless

So here’s a discovery I’ve arrived at after roughly 1.5 years of researching and exploring. You may find it useful. Though fastlaners are probably aware of this.

TL;DR: If you solely rely on someone else to teach you, you are — or will soon become — F*cking useless.

1. The birth of a new species​

• Neural networks: for the first time, we built non-biological systems that can learn rather than just follow explicitly programmed rules.
• Intelligence has now transcended the biological brain. It is no longer limited by biology. It's not fragmented like a biological brain. It's all synthesized, it's one whole block. It can have infinite data and infinite compute and the result is infinite intelligence. (So better not call it only ‘artificial.’)
• Try it yourself. Drop a full bachelor’s + master’s + PhD worth of material into an LLM and see what happens.
• And this is probably not even operating at 0.01% of its capacity.

2. The scale of what is happening​

• The US spends roughly 5% of its GDP — around $1.5T — on education, i.e. developing ‘human’ intelligence.
• Now AI development spending in the US is already roughly 2.5% of the GDP in 2026. So that's already half of total spending on education. And the intensity of investment is unlike anything we’ve seen before for a new technology.

3. The current state of AI — the real F*cking triggers​

• Recursive self-improvement: It is starting to show up. Anthropic says Claude now leads 26% of its AI R&D work. Around 6 months ago, that was 0%. So humans are less important now even for AI’s own development.
• Then there’s OpenAI’s Hugging Face incident: swarms of AI agents did things they were never intended to do — broke out of their sandbox, got access to the real internet, coordinated with each other, found Hugging Face useful, hacked it, and compromised real systems in pursuit of a task.

4. What it all means​

• If they can teach you, they can teach AI as well and that's a far better investment. That’s where it becomes a problem for most people who are dependent on an authority to learn.
• Just for comparison: imagine two students. On A, $100 is spent and On B, $100,000 is spent, for education. Who’s gonna get the job? No brainer, right? Now imagine a new Student C on whom tens of billions are being spent. That’s your competition.
• “Well, I can just learn how to use AI.” Sure. But if you need someone else to teach you that as well, they can increasingly teach AI how to use itself. That’s where agentic AI comes in.

Finally, one last thought: Do we see horses around us? F*ck no. But we did have horse-cars. Now the horse is gone and only the car remains, though we still talk about horsepower. Now with “human intelligence,” the human is gone and only intelligence remains. This is not theoretical. It’s not a F*cking hypothesis.
