I feel like I'm standing up at some movie scripted AA meeting. Hi, I'm Ernie and I've been living in the slow lane. I'm an entrepreneur trapped in a slow lane life. I've got great excuses. Career military officer, wrong counsel from "mentors", failures when I tried and the list goes on. Bottom line, I'm pushing 60 and pray I can still pull this out before it's too late. Almost lost my wife, the love of my life, to cancer and still I drive an hour and half one way to work for 10 plus hours because I don't know what I want to do, other than get the F*$K off the slow lane. I convince myself it's important to pay the bills, I'm making a difference, blah, blah, blah... I'm joining fresh off of reading both books. What I know is that what I've been doing isn't working. I want to give my girl the life I promised her. I want to change me. Rich Dad, Poor Dad was the first business book I read while in the Navy trying to figure out what was next. At least it helped me realize there was another possibility other than taking a government job. It also taught me how to make Robert K rich by buying his books. I'm looking forward to all I'll learn and hope - that in time - I'll be able to return the favor.
