Thanks for the mention guys - Yeah don't mess with Binaries if you care about my advice...or try it. Experience is the best teacher. As for online businesses, based on the replies on this thread I feel a bit lonely because I'm striving for an online business and no one can answer the guy.

no one can answer the guy.

Yea, no one here has an online business. We just "talk" about online businesses.

I just saw @biophase bought a new car... he's been "talking" a lot.

Who here is making any real money (enough to cover all expenses, live with a little comfort, and not have to work a day-time job again) through an online business? If so, what is your business? Thanks :)
I'll give you a complete answer.

The primary parts involved in online business are:

1. Traffic
2. Traffic
3. Traffic.
4. Web skills and understanding
5. Business fundamentals (expense management, etc.)
6. 24/7 workweek to start
7. Diverse skill sets ranging from Marketing, Sales, Writing, Coding, Design, and a lot of other stuff. (Or outsource those if you have money)

On a serious note - without people visiting your website or other traffic converter, you have no business.

The different online businesses and profit models you can create are:

1. E-Commerce (Sell Physical or Online products to consumer)
- Requires understanding of distribution, shipping and etc.
- Requires marketing of products and/or services
- Requires products to sell
- Requires customer service
- Requires a lot of other stuff which would be too long for this short description

2. Affiliate Marketing (Sell other peoples products through your link on your website. Similar to this forum)
- Requires website with consistent traffic
- Requires quality content for users to read
- Requires adequate understanding of website structure
- Requires knowledge of how to place ads and banners that will CONVERT
- Requires quite a lot more like everything else that makes money

3. YouTube
- This one shouldn't be too hard to figure out
- The following ones as well:
4. Facebook
5. Instagram

Hmm.. plenty more - but those are the basics.

Hope it added value to your brain :D

Forget about working for it, have you decided the color and options you want on your first Ferrari yet? That's pretty much the first stepping stone to becoming rich and getting all the hookers and blow you can dream of...

I agree with this.

You need a vision of what success looks like to you. Otherwise you won't have a way of measuring when you get there. ;)

(I do hope hookers and blow are not what success looks like to you though!)

Then, unless you change your attitude [and your plan to launch a forum], you'll never buy one.

There are two types of people. The majority of people that say wow, look at that car, that guy or gal must be loaded, let me take a pic for Instagram because the only way I'd ever have the money for one is if I robbed a bank. And the few who say I want that and I'm going to make it happen.

Anyone interested in switching footer links with my new fitness blog RealManlySpartanManGreekGodWorksoutAndHasABeard.com? It has tons of generic advice, a proven template (copied from another blog) and a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube and Tinder. I'm in the process of splittesting the button color of the buy button of my 3rd ebook "Generic workout routine", so I'm expecting the monies to come in any second

Fill a solution to a problem, fill the void, scale, charge for it, cash the checks at the bank. Money should only be looked at as a tool, nothing more. Doesn't matter online or offline.

An easy step-by-step guide.

Comon @MJ DeMarco , when are you going to show us how to do it?
:X

Pre-Step: PLANNING
Get 1 Page Document or Paper - Seperate into 4 sections:
1. Website
2. Traffic / Marketing
3. Profit Model
4. Competition analysis / Why you're better

Website - Do basic research on each step
Step 1: Decide what CMS to build your forum on (Wordpress? Joomla? etc etc.) Google "How to build an online forum"
Step 2: Decide which host to build your forum on (Hostgator? Godaddy? Other?)
Step 3: Decide how you will structure website / content

Traffic / Marketing
- Know exactly where each user will come from.
Step 1: Research different ways of bringing traffic (Primarily SEO for niche I assume.)
Step 2: Know how to structure content to rank in SEO
Step 3: Know exactly where your users will come from. I cannot emphasize this enough.

Profit Model

Step 1: Decide how you will make money (Affiliate marketing? Adsense? Your own online product? etc.)
Step 2: Decide how you will maximize conversions (Why would they click on it?)
Step 3: You figure it out. No way to make money? No business.

Competition Analysis

Step 1: List all competitors (Direct and Indirect)
Step 2: How many sites are ranking in Google for your niche?
Step 3: Look around their sites, how many users do they have etc etc.

Another thing - make sure you jog down exactly how much money and time it will involve - Web hosting? 10 hours coding? etc.

Those are the basics.. of course there are more things as you move along, most questions can be answered on Google.

No reason to not do it now eh? :)

That's too much work. I don't wanna have to work that hard for my Ferrari. I'll wait for something easier to come my way.

Nobody.

Everyone here is faking it.

All of the information here? It's a lie.

There is nothing beyond the 9-5. Your best hope is to get a high paying job.

...or is it?

I have a ground-floor opportunity that allows you to escape the clutches of the 9-5 without any Fastlane trickery!

So, my dear lad/lass, tell me... have you ever heard of Herbalife?
