I'm watching some SEO videos. They all talk about writing articles for seo.

What else can you use for content besides articles?

I just thought of product description and testimonials as I was writing this post. :)

Can you think of others?

Infographics, ebooks, pdf reports, downloadable how-to's? Basically stuff that provides value and therefore gets you backlinks?

If you have a website a neat tool to use is www.hittail.com. It suggests to you keywords that you can include in your article that will get you high rankings on google. Then you can base your articles around those keywords.

Great content should not written or created for Google. It should be with the reader/audience in mind.

And of course the point of producing content like pdf how-to's and stuff, is you can alternatively upload them to sites like scribd, slideshare etc. instead of directly on your own site, [with a relevant link or two in them], which gets you a backlink and will help establish your online 'brand'. The aim should really be to make your site an 'authority' in its niche - the days of simply spinning and submitting articles to directories are gone, if you want to build [rank] something that lasts.

I totally agree. I think that service would be more useful if you already have a blog going where it can show you keywords that relate to your topic. So you can add those keywords into your article without affecting the quality of the content or changing the feel of the article.

JasonR has a nice thread in the Sales, Marketing, Copywriting, Social Media forum that offers help for SEO. I'd hit him up. There's also a Sales, Marketing, SEO Forum with some good stuff.

Currently none of the search engines are using anything other than written content for SEO purposes. Google is working on using the voice recognition to start indexing Video. You can use infographics and use the alt tag and headings and descriptions. Slideshows with short text paragraphs on each slide.

Pretty pictures. My facebook news feed is filled with them - they are highly shared. This is inline with instagram marketing.
