Hey guys,

So I started a new business recently named StartupBolt. It’s a NextJS SaaS building kit. It’s a one-time payment product, and I am quite happy with my customer base and scale so far (did over $10k in 3-4 months in sales).

Anyway, I usually attend a conference each year in Dubai named Affiliate World Conference. It has over 5,000 affiliates/marketers/advertisers under one roof. The cost to attend this conference is roughly $1,000 per ticket, so these are usually legit business owners or people who work for companies. Usual niches are real estate, solar, home improvement, beauty, health and wellness, gambling, and dating (among other things).

StartupBolt targets developers who want to start a SaaS. People who attend Affiliate World are not developers. I can probably talk to 50–150 people max during the 2-day event, so I don’t want to sell my one-time payment product there, as even with a 10% conversion rate, I will only get 5–10 customers. So I want to sell something recurring.

Thinking these are marketers, these are some ideas I have:
  1. Develop SaaS MVP for them. This will be a lot of work for me to develop the core features. I will have to probably charge $5,000 minimum to make a decent MVP though. And my team is just 2 developers, and I don’t want to hire devs (devs are very, very hard to hire at a reasonable rate). So this can be decent side income, but I probably won’t continue this for more than 10–20 customers as I don’t like the long-term idea of starting a service-based business. On the contrary, the learning experience from building MVPs might give me a lot of ideas on how to build StartupBolt further, as I will use it to build the MVP, and I will get a lot of customer feedback.
  2. Article Writing Service. So StartupBolt can be used to create articles fast and programmatically. If I can figure out how to create great, useful articles for niches I mentioned earlier (real estate, solar, home improvement, beauty, health and wellness, gambling, and dating), including keyword research and finding the right article to write, etc., programmatically (using LLM + human in the loop), I can sell, for example, a service where I write for them 30 articles a month for $100/m or 300 articles a month for $500/m, etc. I’m not sure about the prices, but this can be scaled a little more easily for me as hiring writers is usually much easier than hiring devs. And probably, over time, I can come up with a nice pipeline to create articles fast.
The article/blog is a new feature that I am launching tomorrow. But I am fairly confident that I can come up with a nice strategy on how to write very good articles using AI before the conference starts on Feb 27th. Here is a video of how the blog feature looks now:
What do you think about my ideas? And do you have any other ideas for me? It will be greatly appreciated.
