Put simply, intelligence is the ability to learn, both mental, and physical tasks.

The ability to connect seemingly unrelated ideas to solve a problem.

The smartest person in the world, for me, is Ray Dalio

I think “street smart” is the ultimate compliment. The ability to get stuff done with whatever you *already* have at your disposal.

Being able to simplify the complex is something else I admire and aspire to.

For me, intelligence is the measure of a person's ability to collect/process information, retain it, and recall it for future use. Being smart is sort of a subset of intelligence, where smart people can retain the useful stuff, put it to practical use to make their lives better, while ignoring irrelevant data. Wisdom is what I strive for, which is completely different than mere intelligence or intellectual prowess, for me. I've been diving into a lot of old eastern philosophies, in order to get my mind and body back into a state of health that is needed to accomplish my goals. It's crazy to see just how much wisdom that can found once you drop the pretence and arrogance that our modern western sciences and lifestyles have the answers. Some of those old Yogis and mystics drop "truth bombs" like no one else I've ever heard. I'm at a point in my life where I really needed to find these things. They've reoriented my focus, my sense of self and my view of the world.

How do you define intelligence and who do you think of as smart?
An intelligent person is anyone who can overcome his or her problems or stick to what is already planned

For me everyone is smart in his way

Intelligence is the ability to do stuff with things.

All those guys did stuff with things, except MacGyver... He did things with stuff. This separates the true genius.
