I've hit a roadblock in my eCommerce store because "I need" to solve some legal issues.I’m curious what other things people thought they “needed” but actually didn’t.
To be clear, I think this is required. I'm just posting here to see if I've missed a workaround.
So, I already have a website built, social media pages, some blog posts to generate traffic, samples, and relationships with two manufacturers.
What I don't have is the most important thing, the products up on my store for sale. This is due to two reasons:
1 - In my employee contract, it says that I can't do any other remunerated activity. Which after a few days of deliberation I decided to ignore. If I get fired, I get fired;
2 - I need to declare my activity as a sole trader (I think this is the term) to my country's financial services. However, this is where I'm stuck. I can't figure out how to do it. I found a 300+ page manual, but it's very generic and every situation is different. I contacted governmental institutions. Some provided few answers, others none at all. The worst part of it is, as I'm working 9-5 I can't do it physically and without this issue solved I can't legally invoice my clients.
Any suggestions? Do I put the products for sale anyway?
