This book is very timely for me.

I am in the preparation phase of starting a blogsite. I am usually a private person and don’t share much on social media or the public. Until I recently came to a realization that hoarding what I know won’t help me. Others should benefit from what I know even if I’m not an expert of anything. But I am still very overly conscious of what others might think of me.

Going back to the book, I am reading this to give me that push I need to start what I want to start.

The great rat race escape , 47 chapters read in 2 days. Probably will need 3-4 days more days to finish.

The almanack of naval ravikant, 40 pages read.

Will read Mastery by Robert Greene after these two are finished.

I've got a stack of books by my bed that I'm working through:

Awaken the Giant Within - Tony Robbins (read it before, but recently started reading it again).

An Introduction to Psychology (can't remember by whom, but its the university type handbooks, so it often succeeds in putting me asleep - the theory bits that is).

How life imitates chess - Gary Kasparov (I'm about halfway through this one - was wondering how to become great in chess/life, and this book seemed like a fit).

Successfull Interpersonal Communication - Another handbook (still to start reading it).

How to have kick-a$$ ideas - Chris Barez-Brown. (I'm about 75% through this book, and so far I think it is a great book. It has great exercises, lots of pictures/drawing that makes it an easy read, and is immensely useful in coming up with creative ideas to make the most of your opportunities (a rephrase from 'problems' :)).

Your idea can make you rich - Its from the guys who run the Dragon's Den. So far I'm not really impressed as it feels like the 'same-old' entrepreneur advice in a million other books, but I'm not done reading it completely yet, so I might still change my opinion.

The Complete Guide to Flipping Properties - Steve Burgess (I'm still to start reading this one though - I bought it thinking it would be specific to the UK market, but it isnt, so I'll read it further into the future).

Thats it for my currently reading/unread stack next to my bed.

What are you reading?
How to build a billion dollar app. By Goerge Berkowski. This book should be read by every body, even if you not building apps, it will give you enough business education than any MBA.

I’m confused between the ideas in this book “Show your work” and starting with validating that you have a solution to a problem. Anyone have any thoughts on this? How long of showing your work do you go until you start solving problem? Or is there another way to look at it?

Good books I’ve read recently:

Unoffendable
Brant Hansen - it seems the author was in a rush to write it but worth the read and has lots of good examples

So you want to talk about race:
Ejeoma Oluo - informative about specific changes that will move the needle on race equality vs. what won’t lead to results

The keys
DJ Khaled
Educational about success and how to deal with challenging people

My life so far
Jane Fonda autobiography
Very honest, a good read if you struggle with people pleasing

My night time reading this week has been Rhinoceros Success by Scott Alexander, not seen any of his films but if the book is anything to go by they are surreal, worth the 10p from car boot sale though.

The Power of Awareness by Neville Goddard. I’d give it 5 stars and am considering reading it again. It’s short and to the point, plus he gives a couple of great ideas
Very good book, I read some of his books, I like the way he sees and explains things.

I'm starting The Essentialism: The disciplined Pursuit of Less, I was looking at the reviews from Atomic Habits from James Clear, but one of the reviewers spoke this one should also be one to read. Something told me I should read this one first, I hope it was a good hunch.

Are the books about mental toughness aöl the same or are they by any chance quite different?

I would think that the essence of these books are similiar?

They are similar in some aspects but still different enough to be interesting and worth reading. Each author provides a different perspective and approaches things in a different way.

It's way different to learn about mental toughness from an accomplished mountaineer like Nirmal Purja, an ultra-endurance athlete/obstacle racer like Joe De Sena, a Navy SEAL like David Goggins, or a wounded war veteran fighting to recover like Kyle Carpenter.

Another vote for "Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order" by Ray Dalio.

It couldn't be more timely. It sometimes makes for uncomfortable reading, but it's well worth it. The historical cues presented are well-researched and help us to prepare for the inevitable socio-economic changes that are to come.

Highly recommended.

how to think like a roman emperor.jpg

The first chapter in the book depicting the last moments of Marcus Aurelius's life is one of the most captivating things I've read in a long time. The rest of the book so far (I'm at 35%) is also excellent.

I'm listening to the Psychology of Money.

Not sure how it's going to go as he tells a story about a 94 year old guy who worked a regular job but died with 8million. What's the whole point in having million's if you never get to spend it. That's the first chapter so I hope it gets better.

Lots of business books here lately.

How much of it was practical advice that you actually implemented and seen results?

I decided I know enough for now and stopped reading. Well well, I am more productive than ever.

Funny enough,
Only 5% of what I read so far was actually useful.
I don’t want to sound biased, but :
Pick any of MJ’s books if you haven’t so far. It’s the only read you need from start up to exit.

Reading Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman M.D.

It was mentioned in Die with Zero and I've liked it a lot. Started adding fresh fruit and veggies to everyday now. Didn't realized how much heavy meat diets contributed to your risk of cancers.

Lots of business books here lately.

Yeah I've taken a break from them, most of them are too rehashed generalized information. Started reading other books outside of biz. Unless its the book I need "right now" with specific information.

But this is book 9/12 keeping on pace to do my 12 books this year!

Just began reading Starting a Business All-In-One for dummies

Definitely not the type of book to read all at once (6 books in one LOL), but very helpful for getting specific information and strategies.

Try the China Study as your next read if you're on a dietary / nutrition / disease prevention reading kick. It is listed in recommended reads.

Too bloody late, I lost those 5 hours in December 2021,damn.

Sorry to hear that. :playful:
