Guys, I have some questions about using a template for a website, hopefully you can help me out...
I'm getting ready to launch a marketing blitz for my business (helping people in pre-foreclosure and buying houses) so I need to redesign my website because:
#1 I've recently found out that because I originally created the website using MS FrontPage, it's not completely functional with Firefox/GoogleChrome/other browsers.
#2 I need to update the content - I want to move away from being viewed as a big company (which I'm not) to being viewed as small and personal. I want people to know that they're going to deal with me on a one-on-one, personal, basis - I want to be the face of the company (almost like a Realtor would do for their business).
#3 I'd like to be able to add a video or audio player plugin to the site so that people will be able to either see my face or hear my voice, which I believe will build their trust/confidence in me.
#4 I'd also like to be able to have an signup area for people to enter their name and email so that I can send them a free foreclosure newsletter / ebook.
I've heard several people say that using a template is probably the easiest and most cost effective way to get your website up quickly; so I found a template that I think could work, but I have some questions about what can and cannot be done to it, being that it is a pre-designed template.
This is the screenshot of the template I'm thinking about using:
And this is the link to the template.
If I were to go with this template, I would like to replace the globe icon in the upper left hand corner with my logo and I would like to replace the pictures below the buttons with my own pictures (or maybe even delete them). Is it possible to make changes like this to a template (especially if it's flash), or do you have to use what's there?
I have several other questions, but I think this would be a good place to start.
Another thing... I'd like to keep the budget for this project under $500 if that's possible. If not, I'll look at other options.
Thanks for your replys!
